Everytime I start Rome (VV) it just stops with the error that the program has failed (like the bug when you quit)

I have download the C++ files, but suddenly it doesn't work any more

What could be the problem?

Anybody?

Same problem m8. Unfortunately, from my "infrequent" visits to the tech support forums for Paradox games, it often seems more questions are asked than answers given...and they certainly never seem to be in a rush to help...just what I've become accustomed to unfortunately.

Other devs seem to have people kicking about on release of new games for the "expected" rush on support requests...seems to me Paradox either think their games are bug free or they have missed the data that shows a "spike" in support requests on new releases.

Either way, I'd camp out for a bit.

If you gave some more info, like a picture of the error, your logs and perhaps your DX info, you probably would get more help. I don't know this problem, never had it myself, but perhaps you should try to install newest DX9 version. It tends to solve many problems with PI's game on the new engine.

It's nothing to do with the lack of info (although more infor could be posted). It doesn't matter how much info is posted. The fact that there is no official here overseeing things is what grinds my goat.

But you could perhaps post it? It's not like it hurt. And btw, have you or hae you not tried installing a newer DX9?

I appreciate your post and yes, it's not going to hurt. But there has been no official response to quite a few requests for help.

And you've been round here long enough to understand that that is the way it is here. I was just saying it out loud.

As for DX9...I'm fedup bloody installing DX9. I have a new game every other week that installs DX9c

It's the holidays. I'll come back in January.

Thanks for attention

Yes Paradox doesn't check support, but good somebody does :)

I've just installed the lates direct x, and it doesn't help one bit.

Could you please specify what log I should upload?

I've been around to know that most of the support is done by volunteers, and they do an awesome work. I also know that it sometimes take some time, but that's not the rule. I do think that all the slowness you mention is more than settled by PI's tireless efforts to listen to their customers and go up and beyond in patches and XPs.:)

Too bad...:( IIRC, there is made an error log in the game folder when the game crashes. I might be wrong and that that only applies in testing though. Anyway, if you could post a screenshot of the error next time you encounter the problem, it would probably be helpful.

No it doesn't¨:(

Haven't got a clue what to do

In the start it didn't work, and then I downloaded the C++ and that fixed it.
I played Rome, and in 600 something I changed to Dictatorship, and just after, changed to Imperium. Half year later Civil War broke loose, and I exited it. After that I haven't been able to start EU: Rome.

Could something been messed up with the C++? How do I delete them again? (to install them again afterwards of course)

I believe I've solved my problem.

I changed some settings in the program (run as administrator)

It seems to be working now, some settings in the firewall must have changed during something else.

Perhaps you could describe what you did here, for future reference?:)

Not sure if it's correct translated (my windows is in danish)

I right clicked romegame in the rome folder, and under compatibility I chose "run as administrator" and that seems to do the trick in my case. But it doesn't remove the exit error.

I recieved EU:Rome for christmas but I cant seem to get it to work. Everytime I try to open it it says I am mssing d3dx9_35.dll Any suggestions on what I can do or where I can ind it? or should I just return the game and get something else?

Install the newest DX9. It's all in the stickies. But no one reads those...:(
