Actually, the Qing war ended a couple of weeks before I started the play. I was incredibly lucky. This is a nice mess you made
Though I am amazed you managed to actually gain independence. Quite a feat, even though it is due to the Brits being committed to war with China.
Couldn't you have switched to rebels though? So you could continue making the mess?![]()
Yeah, that definitely suck. Really, no country should be balanced so it is more or less doomed for bankrupcy as SA is.I tried to play South Africa in a multiplayer game (other two people playing Prussia and the US). I went bankrupt instantly and got stuck in a war between Britain and the Netherlands. I basically occupied the entire Dutch East Indies, but Britain wouldn't send a peace offer to the Dutch. I couldn't build any industry because all my reserves had been emptied and even after Prussia took on my debt, I couldn't do anything.
I guess I could go back to an earlier save and try?did you try to conquer them (Oranje) in the 1st year after building a few barracks and make the debt on weapons ?
Oh, massively. I discovered a bit late that the revolution somehow had reverted my army to the lowest unit type. Line infantry would be better, no?At least you made Oranje happy,. The 10% of your non-exiting budget sure helps a lot![]()
