Captain Panda´s "Brave new World" game

I would like to join this game, but from the start I have to admit I have never before played a mp game, so I'm a total noob. If that's a problem just say so and I will try to find a noob game for me first ;)

If it's not a problem I would like to play Spain, as I have never played them before and all the colonizing certainly looks interesting.

A question though: I connect to the internet via a router (5 Mbit cable connection), is that a problem? Do I have to open up some ports or something? If so I would like someone to help me with a test before the game, just to make sure I can connect.

Last of all, as for the scenario: I've seen a lot of players recommend Peter Ebbesen's 1492 balanced scenario, it's somewhere in the scenarios and modifications forum and designed for multiplayer.

EDIT: I have done what I probably should have done right away, read the sticky newbie threads :p I think I can figure the router thing out by myself now... I think... though I would still like someone to help me test it.

Ok, we´ll go with the middleground and use the 1453 scenario.

I don´t have a problem with Ozzeh playing Spain though I don´t know if it´s a very good for someone completely new to MP games. Though if you have tons of singleplayer experience I can´t see a problem.

And we can run a few tests ahead of the game on sunday to make sure you can connect.
 
I've quite a lot of SP experience, so I don't see a problem with Spain (I'll try an extremely fast singleplayer game with them before sunday, so I can get the hang of it).

A couple more questions though:
1) I assume you use the latest beta patch? If not, I'll have to reinstall, not
really a problem but nice to know up front.

2) I also assume you use ICQ to get in touch with the players? If so, my number is: 27054027

As far as I´m concerned : Welcome aboard, friend!
I think playing Spain is actually good for somebody who has never before played a MP game. You´ve got a strong country there....which is able to defend itself pretty well....at least in the first 150 years....

Of course.....as a liberal and progressive Sweden I strictly condemn the reactionary and bloodlusting spanish aggresion worldwide....hehe.....rock´n roll!

As a liberal and progressive Dutchman I would condemn bloodlust too, but since I am also a realistic Dutchman, I can see that bloodlust is inherent to human nature and therefore it's best to slaughter the pagans in an EU2 game to prevent us from slaughtering people in real life :D

Anyways : I would say we´re all set up right Captain Panda? The Game begins next sunday? At the agreed time? Everybody ready to start?

In this case I'll help them with Spain :p Though I must say I would be very tempted to release the Netherlands as a vassal if I happened to own the lowlands at some stage of the game. Just to see how my forefathers fare under AI-management (in SP they never seem to do very well, but in a MP game.. who knows?).
 
Well we need to fill the most vital spots before we go, such as France for example. But right now it´s on for Sunday. Try and get more people to join up, I´ll scour my ICQ tonight and see what I can find.
 
Hi, unfortunately I have met with obstacles this next sunday. I will plan a game for the sunday after that and when that time comes around I will advertise a new game. Don´t worry, the people who have signed up for various countries will still keep them :)

I also have been a bit busy this week and I think I´ll have most of it done by next week. Gives me a bit more time to plan everything and get people together.

Hope this does´nt cause any problems for u guys.
Really looking forward to a game with you all!
 
Not great with CET, but I am reading it as the game being between 2pm-6pm EST on Sundays?

If so, I would be interested in trying France!

Guys....believe me this : I am very much looking forward to this game...
I hope it´s going to be a thrilling experience for everybody involved....so here we go and I can only state the obvious in the words of the glorious (later dead) Captain in "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" :

"Whoever gives the men the most liquor and sends them in to be slaughtered....is the winner! We and the soldiers on the other side have only one thing in common : We reek alcohol!"

Methinks Ozzeh is correct.

Everyone noticed that the game is moved one week right?

I will create a new page for it, try and get more people into it. I should be able to host 10-14 people without lag.

Sorry guys. Seems I am suffering some important trouble so wi on't be able to be in this game :( :( , at least until 1 month. It's only a "may" suffer, but i don't wanna risk the game before than started for a may. Enjoy it enoway, and a make a glorious Russia born ;)

Will be happy to play with you any other time. :)
