I've noticed, in the crusade file for Cordoba, and in the Caliphate file for Caliphate, that there are some events (namely the "we survived the crusade" and the "qazavani has smashed those emirate bastards" events) that have a "you failed to do X" event that triggers IF the "we are successful" event does not trigger. Now for some reason, even though I was doing fantastically as the Caliphate, the "Qazavani smashes the emirates"(or whatever) event never triggered, so I eventually get the "dismiss qazavani" event despite nothing wrong ever happening.

If the success event doesn't trigger, it's probably a fault of the event creator, so why punish the player for it? Can we change these events so they don't simply assume failure if the success event ahsn't triggered for whatever reason?

Otherwise, love the mod. Keep up the good work.

It's probably a bug - it would definitly be fixed...

I'll look into it.

Thanks.

EDIT: The problem is that the dates for the "You did it" event were too narrow. I lengthened these by 10 years.

Fair enough.
What I think is that, in cases of event cycles where 90% you'll probably be fine, such as those two events, the end result should be victory UNLESS something goes terribly wrong. Know what I mean? Anyway, lengthening the dates by 10 years is a good idea anyway.

Absolutely love the mod though. Maybe one of these days I'll have some time to fully playtest something that needs to be playtested, and give you a bug report. Alternatively, maybe, just maybe, I could get some time to write up some events.

I'd get so much done if it weren't for this silly "real life".

Ah yes, real life. Takes up a lot of time.

But if the default result was success, then players who read the event files (basically all of them) would know to do nothing and wait the the UNLESS result to happen. Much better to set players a goal and punish them if they don't succeed. :D

Perhaps for events like Bavaria's crusade, sure. But in cases where "you'll be fine unless you do something hugely stupid" type events like the one I described with the caliphate, success should be default, don't ya reckon? It takes a huge effort to conquer Iberia as Bavaria, but even the AI can handle the emir's revolts as Caliphate, know what I mean?
