I've been looking for a mod in which you can change the color of the NATO counters. Preferably ingame, so I can see at a glance which army is which.
I'm sure I've seen it somewhere, but I can't find it anywhere.

To clarify, it's just the COLORS I want to change; the nato symbol is fine.

Unfortunately, that's not an option. Counters are color coded to their nations' color.

Well you can change the code of each country
Not ingame, but before playing it

Would someone kindly know which file I would have to edit, e.g. for editing the color of USA?

I got HoI3 new but I am a HoI2 veteran. I notice that counters for USA are blue when I remember they were olive-green in HoI 2 which I think is more fitting. Basically what I might do if not too cumbersome is put the HoI 2 colors on counters that I presently don't like. Not sure if the color codes are the same as in HoI 2. Ideally I would look them up there and edit the HoI3 file(s) accordingly. Many Thanks!

Yep:

Inside the Countries folder (...\Hearts of Iron 3\Common\Countries) is the USA file. At the top, it has the country color in a RBG code... 42 56 14. I might take a glance at the HoI2 file (should be the same layout) to get Paradox's OD Green, though, as I think its a darker one.
