A number of months ago, the question was asked about changing titles. For example, say you are the King of Ireland. You've just conquered England, and you now want your primary title to say "King of England". I know it involved changing tags in a certain order. I did a few searches, but could not find the correct thread.

Would someone be kind enough to point me to the proper thread that lays out the instructions for performing this task? It is greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,
Tom

Method 1) First, find out the tags for your current and future primary title. In your case I think it's IREL and ENGL (check first in world_names.csv).

Open the savegame in Notepad and type ctrl+H. Select the 'case sensitive' box. Now do a replace of ENGL for XXXX -- then change IREL to ENGL -- then XXXX to IREL. Save, and load as the new title.

This method will make sure that you keep both titles, and only titles are changed, not also names that happen to share the string.
The only "problem" with this method is that any claims will also be swapped between the two titles.

Method 2) Give the new primary title to your primary heir, then save and reload as him. Then use the 'die' console command to kill your former ruler: you will inherit all his titles and claims, but keep the new primary title.
This method preserves claims properly, but will force you to kill your old ruler. It also doesn't require you know the tags of your titles.

... or simply let the old geezer live and hope he doesn't ruin your entire inheritance :D
