Would it be possible to make it less likely for kingdoms to become involved in a war?

I.E, if a count goes to war against another count, there should be a chance for his overlord Duke to get embroiled or not. As well as a chance for the other duke's overlord. If neither Duke decides to get involved, then it stops there. If both Duke decide to get involved, only then should it go to Kingdoms. But it should be based on Prestige or perhaps wealth or power of the combatants whether dukes get involved and then kings.

If two counts are very closely balanced, there'll be at least a 50/50 chance that neither Duke gets involved. Though, there'll be a higher chance that the Duke of the weaker count will, but not the duke of the stronger count. This can of course, be modified by traits as well.

I'm just supertired of seeing every war degenerate into Europe in Flames because of the hit that dukes get for not defending their vassals. A Count should have a choice whether to ask his overlord for assistance in the first place, whether attacking or defending.

I'm SURE this can be modified somehow, as the events already exist in some form.

Thoughts?

Furthermore, is there a way to mod events that if two overlords reach a peace, a WP is forced on all their vassals regardless?

I am afraid the events are hardcoded, and the AI is hardcoded to DOW in support of their vassals. Hence your changes would not be feasible.

That is the one single change we have been explicitely promised in 1.05...and it is quite eagerly awaited by many I assure you! :)

Altho, I'm guessing it will likely be hardcoded, not triggered by the event engine (all the better IMO).
