Why many times when I login to V-NET I can't select a channel? Without a channel I can't find other players? What is up with that?

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
That means it is down in my opinion. But some others claim if you log out and back on a couple of times it might correct that.
I had this exact same problem on the 24th..and i tried about a half dozen times to no avail!!

I never even managed to connect to valkyrienet. Closed my firewall aswell as all other background programs. I am connected through the university server but it allows me to play any other game over microsofts servers and gamespy.
I can play with my firewall on using a "games" setting on Gamespy and the like but when I try to play EU2 I have to turn it off completely to be able to join games. I can see the channels with the firewall on but to join I must turn it off.
I also haven't been able to find the channels for a few days, must go try now though
well its 10:30 cst....cant find main server again....whats the other internet connection for....is that a more direct line between two computers?
I think it's the one were you insert the other computers IP adress manually. Basically it's manual version of Valkyrienet where you have to find the players yourself.
So the host would have to give me this in order for me to join a game...it sounds as if from other players especially that v-net still isnt operating well at all
