Those decisions you make about your kids traits are misleading (maybe bugged). There are always (i think) 4 options. From my experience, one of them says your child earns a trait (for example, cruel), another says you lose it and another don't say anything about that determined trait. If you go to your child character it already shows the trait, before you actually chosing to earn it.

Thank you for reporting this, do you have a screenshot of the matter and are you sure that the option didn't result in a chance in getting the trait? For example, "45% chance of [name of child] getting the trait 'Gregarious'."

I'll post soon when I play again (they happen all the time). But I'm sure the trait appears on your character before you even choose any of the options. Also, if it was a chance to get the trait, it should not have an option to lose it.

Here are the screeshots:

I believe this is actually WAD. However, it can be a little misleading, I agree. The event is based on the fact that your child experienced something which have made him/her greedy and one of the options will therefore make your child to continue (rather than actually 'gain') having the trait whilst another will make your child (with a 20% chance of success) lose the trait.
