European Powers in 1502 – Spain Ruling Both Europe and the World​

THE ECONOMY

• It is interesting to notice that for quite a number of nations budget income is lower than the rest of incomes (refinery, monarch and neighbour bonus).
• The largest increase of income was noticed in Spain, followed by England and Denmark, newly emerging trading nations. The last two also build quite a number of manufactories .
• Close behind, with significant increase on income, is Muscowy which is continuing her expansion, while France is slowly, oh so slowly, regaining lands lost in the anarchy following HYW.
• Countries that suffered loss of budget income during the last decades are Venice and Austria, especially Venice.
• France still has very high inflation, second only to Poland! Again some were more lucky in deflation events , especially Brandenburg, Muscowy and Sweden. Austria and Poland gained significant inflation though .
• Even French trade is dropping, now we are behind Denmark, the leading trading power in the Europe and probably in the whole world, as well as behind Venice.
• Manufactories: 3 – England, Denmark, Ottoman Empire, 2 – Flandres, 1 – Venice, Poland, Austria, Muscowy, Spain
• Manufactories build in the last quarter of the century: 3 – England , 2 – Denmark, Flandres, 1 – Ottoman Empire, Muscowy, Spain. There is one under construction in France.
• There were some talks about France being equal to Flandres now, but clearly this is far from the truth. France still has a lot to do to catch up with what she could have been…

TECHNOLOGY SPEED

• Neighbor bonus is a significant source of income and research for many nations, especially latin tech group. Brandenburg, Venice and Sweden are the perfect examples.
• England is an overall leader thanks to her low tech multiplier, as well as Venice, while Spain is among the leading nations despite of her high tech multiplier, because of her high income (and that's without American gold ).
• After decades of fast development, France is far behind, "on pair" with Orthodox Muscowy and Austria currently troubled with wars.
• English DP multiplier is by far the best, while French is the second worst, better only than Spanish, but as already said, for Spain it is not relevant because of her insane richness and more to come soon.
• Polish and French inflation also add to the problem…
• Sometimes it's good to be small, as Venice and Brandenburg show .
