Does anyone have any tips regarding this Unciv in the Grand Campaign?

I've tried it and after the British DoW me on the opium wars they refuse to white peace even after I've defeated every landing they made for almost a decade.

Now the tech gap has grown so big that I don't stand a chance =(

Countries usually don't offer peace unless they are
a) losing badly or
b) have a high warscore or
c) have a lower military score than you, or
d) some combination of a, b, & c.

That means the British probably aren't going to ask you for peace. The British AI doesn't see anything wrong with continuing to fight you because none of those criteria have been met.

You can end the war quickly by retreating from Hong Kong and letting them occupy it. If the war still doesn't end, let them occupy Shaozou, that should do it. Then an event will end the Opium War.

You could continue fighting and hope for the best, but it might continue for years. You have more important things to do with your money and resources if you want to become civilized.

There have been several AARs and other threads written on how to win as China. You should look at some of them to get tips. There's no search box so google paradox Victoria revolutions china or something like that.

When I played China, during the Opium War I spammed white peace offers at every possible opportunity while making sure to destroy their troops as they landed, and eventually they accepted.

I've also gotten white peace or even won that war before, but it can take 15 years. Then it takes you longer to recover and put resources into becoming civilized.

If I'm not mistaken China gets tech after losing the Opium War and railroads in the coastal provinces the UK briefly takes ownership of. So it's not the end of the world to lose.

Invade British india, you have a land border, and take provinces.

Eventually the AI will accept a white peace as you are now hurting them.

Rememeber, even your crappy huge stack can beat the small starting British army.

If Burma is not in the way, he can do that. But his irregulars and natives are going to be nearly worthless in enemy territory. They suffer massive attrition and reinforcing them makes them too weak to fight for a while.
