Sometimes instead of merging my armies I like to keep them separated and there might be 15 or so groups listed on the screen at once. I notice though when I try to scroll the screen this way it chops and lags quite a bit. Doesn't do this when I have them all merged though. I have an ATI 5700 RAEDON HD 1gb ram video card by PowerColor.

That aside I do see you using a LOT of memory for something, a total of 10gb:


Try exiting every other app before you run the game - does that help at all?

Well that high memory usage is because for one the game is running in the background and I have this forum page open when running DXdiag. Plus I have a virtural memory setting of 9211 which I believe is 1.5x my base memory of 6gb or there abouts. I usually always set the min vitual memory size to the max virtual memory size so both were 9211.

I recently tried a min of 400 and a max of 9211 and that seems to solve the problem for now as it barely lags and not near as much as it used to.

Heh, remember this is VISTA operating system and it was/is a memory hog compared to Win7 I've read. ;)

This is an updated one after changing virtual memory but still with this page open and the game running int he background.
