The young Kumaraya had finished his studies, had become an acceptable warrior, Teyare was sure that his son would improve with time, father and son now shared the tasks of government. Kumaraya was a moderate and patient young man, he enjoyed great prestige in Arsi, possibly thanks to his manly mustache.
Purnayi also reached the adulthood. During his childhood he suffered several diseases that affected his intellectual capacity. Despite this, she is very kind and charitable.
Her brothers Teyare and Trasisi appreciate her and have taken care of her, her mother Sundari, however, always felt a certain rejection for she, more than once she thought about abandoning her when she was a baby.
The failed war against Krorän had left the treasure in ruins. Li Song was responsible for collecting a considerable amount of money with donations that several families of the kingdom. However, these donations were not enough for the kingdom to recover the lost glory.
Li Song thought of a way to bring more income to the kingdom and went to look for Teyare. He plans to establish a new trade route with a foreign kingdom with which they were not trading at that time. After thinking about several options, it occurred to him that the kingdom of Sumparu, in Tibet, would be a good option. It is a kingdom of pagan mountaineers
After evaluating the situation, Teyare decided to accept the entrepreneurship. Dozens of camels, mules and horses were taken to Arsi to transport the goods, these beasts of burden were brought by a group of Uyghur bandits who stole them near the city of Urumqi, northeast of Arsi.
Several buddhist monks also appeared before Teyare to express their desire to be part of the entourage in exchange for paying a sum of money, they are interested in traveling to Sumparu in order to spread their religion there.
This entrepreneurship was announced in Arsi with great pomp, the delegation was composed of hundreds of people, including Teyare and Li Song.
The government of the kingdom was in care of Kumaraya, he would be advised by the commander Sung Yuanying and Nong Shi'er, the Upadhyayani.
After several days through the mountains the delegation arrived at a village where, according to the locals, the king of Sumparu lived. It was a great surprise to know that it was a woman, Brizhalda from the house Samtho. The arrival of the arsianos merchants generated much hubbub in the town, hundreds of mountaineers coming down from the mountains to exchange their products. Juan presented the queen with a gift of fine fabrics.
After more than a week, the delegation began the return to Arsi, a new commercial route had been established. The products obtained would be sold in the cities of the kingdom of Arsi at a very good price, the real treasure could be recovered.
When Teyare arrived to Arsi he was quickly received by his son Kumaraya:
Kumaraya:
"You finally arrive! We are in serious trouble..."
Teyare:
"My son, what's wrong?"
Kumaraya:
"My uncle Durmukhe, your brother, has rebelled in Kucha."
Teyare:
"Damn it!"
Kumaraya:
"The Kucha and Kubera garrisons are at your command. He intends to take away the title of king."
Durmukhe had always longed for the kingdom for himself, he was waiting for the right moment to strike. The indicated moment came after the unsuccessful war of Teyare against Krorän and after the death of the chancellor Wästarye who had always advocated a good relationship between the brothers.
It was the first civil war in the kingdom of Arsi-Kucha, it seemed that the dream of Hatgara was doomed to collapse because of a dispute between brothers that since childhood could not be resolved.
Technically, Teyare had an army more numerous than his brother, however, Durmukhe increased the number of his warriors by accepting several bandits and smugglers.
For the purpose of legitimize his reign, Teyare took the spear of his father Hatgara, this spear had an important symbolism for the Kusara family, its owner acquired an extra dose of prestige among the warriors.
Teyare, for his part, decided to entrust the command of the army to the experienced Sung Yuanying. Kumaraya was also as commander, the boy was a decent warrior and it was time to prove his worth.
The arsians went out to meet the kuchans, brother against brother. Durmukhe chose a defensive position near the border between Arsi and Kucha, encamped his army in the village of Kesil, where the battle took place.
The forces were equal, Teyare ran the right flank of his army, fought in the front line waiting to meet his brother face to face, however, it seemed that Durmukhe was not fighting there, his army was commanded by his vassals.
The flanks of the arsians defeated their enemies and could thus envelop the center of the kuchans, they soon began to flee.
The battle of Kesil was a decisive victory but not a final victory, in Kucha was the final resistance of Durmukhe. The siege lasted for almost a month until the city soon began to suffer from hunger. The gates of the city were opened against the will of Durmukhe.
Durmukhe was dragged out of his residence, Teyare humiliated him in front of everyone and chained him. What to do with his rebellious brother?
Teyare thought about executing him, however, this was not a solution with which he could live the rest of his life. Durmukhe would pay his affront with the prison.
