Ever since I installed the new Catalyst driver (11.10 - required to play Rage), my CiM will no longer load. It was working flawlessly for weeks.

When I open my log_metro.txt, this is all I see:

Opened log in "userdata/log_metro.txt".
Version: 1.0.21
initializing FMOD...
[done]
initializing OpenGL-window...

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but still no dice. All that happens when I try to run the game is that the driver "resets", and the game does not run.

Someone - please help!!

CCC 11.10ß is made only for Rage, but it is well known that is a buggy bullsh*t for other games. Until the final version of 11.10 comes out, you have to decide which game you want to play with... So I think this is not the fault of CiM.

Thanks for the reply.

I also don't think it's CiM's fault - and like I said, it's obviously related to the Rage driver (especially since Rage is an OpenGL game). I was just hoping that maybe someone had found a workaround... I'm really enjoying Rage, but this is getting to be a real pain...

Ahh, so there was a good OpenGL driver which is screwed for Rage. Very nice from ATI. Good quality inspection from Carmack. He published a game without testing with ATI's drivers. (He should do at least with 11.x drivers I think.) And ATI tries to make a driver for it, and it's unsuccessful.

You'now I'm not interested in Rage, but I've read much about it, and everywhere everyone is scandalized at Rage and Carmack.

The game's good. Not earth-shattering good, but good.

A LOT of people are having problems with the Rage on the PC though... I'm just bummed that I have to basically choose between Rage and CiM right now. Oh well.
