Question I installed cities slyline on my mac, everything worked fine. Now because city skyline takes up quite a lot of space, I moved the game library via steam after an external drive. does that just cause problems?

The game does not remember my game settings turning it off day and night does not work, the game language keeps changing, etc. Can this be solved.

Had day and night checked and also auto save and disable fire spreading?
But as you can see on the screenshots, will you remove it again?

Gr Brenda

Where the game is installed under Steam makes no difference, aside perhaps from loading speed depending on the nature of the connection to that external drive.

Game settings are held under
~/Library/Application Support/Colossal Order/Cities Skylines/
and I don't think there is any way of changing that.

Thanks for your answer, I thought Uncle wouldn't care all that. Because steam makes it possible to move the game library. But if I just have the game on the internal drive, everything will work? But then the game runs much slower than on the external drive. Is there another possibility to solve this?

As I said, where the game is installed has no effect on where the game settings are held. Do you see them where I said they should be?

However I can't think why game settings would not be preserved under MacOS. Under Windows that can be an antivirus app getting in the way.

The only thing that might hold you up is the speed of your drive. A USB connected hard drive isn't nearly as fast as an internal M.2 SSD drive, and not all external drives are equal. If you use a lot of assets, a FAST drive is needed. I would make a time/record of how long it takes to launch the game before, and after the move..... and then decide whether it is acceptable.

Does the Samsung t7 ssd have a super fast drive, the game already runs faster on the external drive. I only get on the external drive that it does not remember the game settings
