Hello,

I bought Cities: Skylines about a week ago and have been enjoying the game ever since. However, now that my city is quite large (and in charge) I've encountered what seems to be a bug concerning the Incineration Plant. I have over the amount money and population needed - but I still can't buy the plant.

This has put a large dent in my gameplay due to landfills taking up space and not being emptied correctly. I've tried searching for solutions online as well as step by step guides on how to even get a Plant should I have missed something, but unfortunately, nothing seems to work. If possible, can you tell me if I missed something? If it is a bug, would it be possible to patch it...?

Thank you.

Edit: Also I noticed you've been flooded with saved game issues. I wanted to point out that I also experienced them, but that's not what this thread is about. Just wanted to clarify that it was more than just two people who might have "forgotten" to save. :p

When you click on the Garbage button near the bottom-center of the screen, to see which "garbage" structures are available, does the Incineration Plant show as a normal image of the structure, or do you only see the all-black silhouette of the structure ?
Also, what is the current total population number of your city ?

Very strange. What mods are you using?

Yeah, that is strange.
It should have been available at 7000 population.
As Steve B. (above) is asking .... did you download any mods ? They sometimes do strange things to the game.
PS: My recommendation, is that you play your first city without downloading mods. Get used to the game and its mechanics first.

Yeah sorry about that, I didn't mean to confuse. ^^;

Anyhow, if this is something I'm doing wrong in game I'd love any and all tips available. However, if it's a bug I'd really appreciate it being checked out because- well, it's incredibly tedious to play the game without a Plant. If not, nigh impossible late game.

Devinchi,
You may want to open a technical issue ticket, directly with the developers. You can't play the game with only landfills (there will be too many). You will need Incinerators as your city continues to grow.
If you are using no mods, then it sounds like an in-game bug to me.
PS: Did you download any garbage structures that other players have created (assets) ? Wonder if that might be the problem.

the PS4 version doesn't have any mods or assets so the only version of the incinerator that can be used is the default one.

As the above said, there's no way for me to have used mods - to my knowledge - and even if there had been, I didn't use them so the bug itself would ultimately have to be inside the game instead of outside of it. That said, I'll send in a ticket and hopefully, it'll be fixed soon. Otherwise...well, I just won't be able to play I guess. :/

Edit: Just submitted support ticket.

Is there any common instance that could cause such a thing so that I can prevent it in future gameplay...?

edit: Thank you for all the enthusiasm in trying to help!
