What is your game version?

What expansions do you have installed?
After Dark, Snowfall, Mass Transit, Industries, Sunset Harbor

What mods are you using?
None, unsubscribed from all

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
The resolution of my game is not optimal; the whole UI and game looks a bit grainy (also see screenshot). I have tried disabling and uninstalling mods, reinstalled the game, tried different resolution settings but none proved to help. I am on macOS Ventura 13.3.1 and running CS via Steam (latest version).

Can you replicate the issue? If yes, please explain how you did it.

I don't see what there is on that screenshot you are referring to, sorry.


Please attach this log file here:
~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log

To find that file, in Finder do cmd-shift-G to bring up the GOTO box. In there paste ~/Library/ . You will see a /Logs/ folder, and inside that /Unity/ folder. Please attach that file player.log here by dropping it on this support ticket, or use the "Attach file" link here.

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

Hi, thanks for the response! I already thought the screenshot would not be very clear, so I've added a few more on here. The resolution of the text and game graphics just do not match my screen quality, even though the game settings are set to 1440x900 which is my screen resolution. It's just annoying and it makes the game unenjoyable to play.

I tried starting the game but I got the error message as seen in the second screenshot, and I cannot pass by it (keeps returning to the message if I click any of the buttons). Also attached the files you asked for.

Ah, you are on Apple Silicon! Strictly speaking that's not supported hardware for this game, so there's probably not much we can do here; we are in the hands of Apple's Rosetta emulation for the UI etc.

I see you have 2 monitors, does it matter which one you run the game on? You may have to switch to windowed mode to drag the game onto the other one.


The simulation error is a problem in that particular saved game; we'll need some gameplay experts such as @Lucododosor or @co_avanya to help you with that; attach here the affected save game file.

To recover from simulation error, try these steps:

• Subscribe to the Loading Screen Mod if you haven't already and enable it in Content Manager
• Go to Main Menu > Options and select the Loading Screen Mod in the list on the left
• In the mod's settings, under "General", select all boxes under Safe Mode and under Try to recover from simulation errors
• Load the save and, if that works, save it as a new file
• Restart the game, disable the Safe Mode and load the save (the new file) again

Hi, thanks for both responses! The monitors do not make a difference for game quality unfortunately. Guess I'll have to wait for CS 2, I assume that will natively support Apple Silicon.

As by now there has been no announcement for supporting Apple.
