I don't know if anyone's played it, but SR III is one of Paradox' older games and centres on Scandinavian medieval strategy. It's a bit of a children's strategy game really, but:

In several of Sergeis (sometimes a bit disordered) posts he's mentioned a "nobility/clergy/burgher/peasant system". SRIII has one of those, just not a very well-made one. Will CK in _any_ way be based on SRIIIs system?

I sure hope not.

It seems very unlikely that CK will have anything from SR III TMHO...

Two different developers, you know...:)

The same designers... ;)

I guess the idea is similar, but that the implementation will be very different.

Svea Rike was pre-EU, wasn't it?

I seem to recall that it had some nifty ideas, but not all that great execution of them. :)

Friends: Is the game SR3 worth to buy or not? It is hard to understand what this game is about, because all of the description is in some scandinavian language. The only scandinavian word that I know is quisling. But an EU-type strategy game is desirable, even if it is not the best as EU.

I think SR3 is only available in Swedish (and maybe Norwegian), so it probably wouldn't interest you. :)

I'd say it isn't worth it getting it now. I got SR3 after EU2 and was disappointed. Not because SR3 is a bad game, but because EU2 was so vastly better.

And, as DK mentions, you might get some problems with the language. ;)

It didn't even hold the interest of this Norwegian for a long time. :(

No, SRIII is not a bad game but it are a real-time game and unlike the EU series is feels and behaves like a RTS. So if you like RTS (and understand a scandinavian language :) ) it is a good buy. Othewise it is not.
