Hello,

so I've seen this more often, but this is the first time I made a screenshot.

***I am not talking about the option to settle adventurers or to negotiate and give them land***

He's an adventurer.
Look at the History of the Chiefdom of Varde.
It was inherited by Bertil, then by Alfgeir, then by Elda... and then Sigudr just "got" it.
If you examine closely you notice that the former Chief of Varde is his mother and she is still alive

He apparently somehow "got" the title and because he was a Duke (Raiders are duke tier) before, he became independent

Is this WAD or a bug?

They both seem reasonable, right?

on the first 2 and the last screenshot there's the notification icon for too many vassals (at least it looks like it). IIRC vassals can go independent if you have too many already. so that could be related / WAD

yes
but only if I have succession, not by some randomness.

plus the title is not inherited as the history would say inherited or elected, but there is simply nothing
