One line summary of your issue
A duke vassal becomes independent after losing his only county
Game Version
3.0.1.1.
What expansions do you have installed?
All of the above
Do you have mods enabled?
No
Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
This potentially is a feature, but seems more like a bug. If a vassal who holds only one holding outside his/her primary duchy loses the said holding in a war; he automatically gains a county level holding in his primary duchy and... becomes independent from his liege (king or even emperor). I, playing as the emperor of Britain, could ask such freshly independent dukes to join me as vassals (and they would immediately agree). However, this results in a massive threat point gain.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
1. Be an emperor
2. Have a duke hold only a single county outside his primary duchy.
3. Have the said duke lose his only holding to someone else.
4. Observe as the duke's duchy breaks independent as the said duke auto-gains a holding within his primary duchy.
5. Offer the duke to rejoin the the empire; he will agree (probably), resulting in a massive threat point gain.
