Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
When a bastard is born to your dead father and one of his lovers, who got pregnant while he was still alive, he is automatically considered a legitimate member of your dynasty, added to the inheritance line, and not even marked as "legitimized bastard". Clearly, the bastard should be by default unacknowledged, since his father is not alive to acknowledge him, or at least "recognized" if the affair was known or if other bastards have been recognized or legitimized from the same mother and father.
Additionally, I'm pretty sure inheritance isn't recalculated in the event of after-death births. If the player dies heirless while his /wife/ is pregnant, the wife should gain the title, forced into a regency, which waits for the birth and see if it's an eligible heir, and then either gives the title to that heir, or, if a daughter born to an absolute-cognatic title, then passes the title on to whoever it would have gone to.
This may be a bit of work to implement, but it would carve off one of many 1:200 "your game explodes even though it shouldn't have" events. A regency for a child in the womb makes as much sense as a regency for a newborn.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
- Get a lover pregnant
- Die before she gives birth
- Wait for her to give birth
- Observe that her bastard is now fully legitimate, and not considered a bastard
