EDIT:
I apologize about getting the title wrong, and I would appreciate any mod fixing it.
I added another, older, similar saved game, which has the same issue. HOWEVER, I know for a fact that I unlocked the "By Jupiter!" achievement with the older game. Both games were played with the current beta version. I strongly believe the game rules window is just displaying the wrong values for some rules, for whatever reason.

One line summary of your issue

In-game game rules provide incorrect invasion values and says achievements are still enabled

Game Version
3.0.1.1 (beta) [ONDO]

What expansions do you have installed?
Jade Dragon,
Monks & Mystics,
The Reapers Due,
Conclave,
Horse Lords,
Way of Life,
Charlemagne,
Rajas of India,
Sons of Abraham,
The Old Gods,
The Republic,
Legacy of Rome,
Sword of Islam,
Holy Fury, All of the above

Do you have mods enabled?
Yes

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Description: In-game display of game rules says Mongol, Turkic and Chinese invasions are disabled, but also says achievements are enabled. No such invasions have been triggered so far, in 913, but I'm pretty sure I selected historical settings, so the earliest would be 965, anyway,

DLC: All major DLCs except Sunset Invasion
Mods: "No trade post gold sound" and "Patrum Scuta (Ironman)". Issue persists when disabled.

I'll try to keep this updated if an invasion is triggered or when the invasion time periods have elapsed with no invasions triggered.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
1. Load saved game
2. Check the game rules info window from the upper left corner when in-game

I also have this issue and have had it in 3.0.1 too

The date in my game is now way past the historically prescribed for the Rise of the Seljuks (965-985), and the event hasn't fired at all.I have however unlocked a few more achievements (including "Exalted Among Men" and "Bless my Reign down in Africa". Game save file is attached).

I decided to investigate my game save file, and this is the contents of "game_rules":
Code:
game_rules=
    {
        alternate_start=yes
        epidemics="delayed_dynamic"
        generate_families="ai_only"
        exclave_purge="significant"
        dejure_drift="restricted"
        dejure_drift_duration="shorter"
        de_jure_requirement="required"
        culture_conversion="faster_melting_pots"
        cultural_title_names="off"
        conclave_education_focuses="all"
        defensive_pacts="off"
        martial_headgear="off"
        provincial_revolt_strength="powerful"
        supernatural_events="unrestricted"
    }
Invasion rule values are absent.

For comparison, this is from a fresh Ironman save with the same rule set loaded:
Code:
game_rules=
    {
        alternate_start=no
        alternate_start="yes"

    }

My save was initially started in 3.0.1 (CDYZ)... So next I decided to revert to that version, and do some testing.
I created a new save with the same parameters as above, and the save file had the contents of the second code block (the longer one). I resigned from the game, and reloaded the save again. Upon opening the save file after the reload, the contents had changed from the content in the second, longer code block, to the first, shorter code block.
It seems to me whatever is causing custom message settings to be reset on reload, also resets game rules to default values:
Code:
- Custom message settings should no longer be overwritten by default values at the start of the game.
HOWEVER, this bug fix does not appear to fix the issue at hand, for game rules. I ran the same test in the ONDO beta (new save, resign, reload), and with the same result as described in CDYZ.
In addition, this all implies that the hardcoded default values for invasions is "off"; Other events, like the Children's Crusade, triggered for me.

I hope this bug can somehow be fixed for my save.

I've had the same problem; upon reloading a save, Mongol Invasion, Sunset Invasion, Turkic Conquerers are changed to Disabled in the game rules, where they were set to Enabled in the beginning (and they have the same smaller block of rules in their save files rather than the larger one from a fresh save).

In my non-ironman game I was able to "fix" this by removing the line 'alternate_start="yes"' in the save file before reloading a second time, but obviously I can't do this for Ironman games.

Yeah I had the same issue. I always play with the same set of rules that just never changes and I always have all invasions turn to historical (except for Aztec which I let to default). When I check in-game rules are set to all invasions disabled. Somehow it's weird because it says achievements are enabled but for some reasons I get some achievements (I got the "From Ashes" achievement) but not other achievements ("SPQR" for instance).

Thanks all for your reports. We are aware of this bug and have some good leads on the cause.

For now, as @LemurLord pointed out, removing the line 'alternate_start="yes" from the file documents/ParadoxInteractive/Crusader Kings II/interface/game_rules.txt should work as a workaround. It is possible that removing the entire file and verifying files might also fix the issue for any future ironman games but I haven't been able to confirm that this is the case yet (Note that this will remove any rule presets you've saved).

Will update this thread with any new information!
