Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
My ruler was away for a coronation event. Meanwhile, the plague got to my county yet... I got it, even though the lands were far away from the plague lands. The ceremony started already so I way not in plague lands. Better yet, the plague never ended up there in the first place.

I can make up a story where I got it along the way there, but it shouldn't have happened.

There is always the non-zero chance that a satanist used tainted touch on you to give you the plague (yes, the plague is one of the random diseases that tainted touch can impart on the victim).

True, I didn't take that into account. But what are the odds, in a 250 year long game, that that happens, right after the actual plague hits my town? I'm sure it has lots of zeroes in it.

The event in question probably does not move your character in game-technical terms. If you hover over his portrait it will tell you where he is technically located.
