Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
There is a Duchess in my realm that thinks that she should be my Marshal. The issue is that she is imprisoned, so if I chose to give her the Marshal position, she would vacate the post immediately, because upon being imprisoned, council members vacate their positions. My best guess is that the event in question doesn't check to make sure that the female character isn't currently imprisoned.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
Reproducing this issue might be tricky, so I'll include my save file that currently has the event on screen. It is an ironman save, so it would be difficult to reproduce more than once (Although, come to think of it, this particular character has asked to become my Marshal at least 3 times now. This is the first time she has asked while imprisoned, though). There is also a small chance that the event checks to see if the player has imprisoned the female character, so that might make checking the issue a bit more tricky.
'A'1. Have a powerful female vassal in your realm with a reasonably high Diplomacy, Stewardship, Martial, Intrigue, or Learning and not in your council.
'A'2. Imprison her and wait for the event shown in the attached picture to fire.
If 'A' doesn't reproduce the issue, try 'B'
'B'1. Begin a 2 person multiplayer session of CK2, with one player having a powerful female vassal in your realm with a reasonably high Diplomacy, Stewardship, Martial, Intrigue, or Learning and not in their council.
'B'2. The other player needs to imprison the female vassal by some means. Probably the easiest method would be to have the 2nd player join the Satanic Cult of their religion and choose to abduct her, but a Germanic pagan could also raid the female vassal and imprison her.
'B'3. First player should wait for the event to fire.
