Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
As this title says, a child still remains as a ward even after he becomes adult, even a ruler. Dismissing the ward won't work.

I'm having the same issue. I acquired a ward through a Hold Court event (single parent brings their kid and asks you to take care of them). Now he's 17 and he's still my ward. There's no option to remove his guardian, probably because he's an adult, and that interaction isn't listed for adults. This is the third time I've taken in a ward through that particular Hold Court event, but the first two worked fine.
