Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
Unfortunately I couldn't find the save referenced here but it is a save right after both parents died. This time my character inherited a duchy but you can see the second son inherited only a county and not a duchy. In this scenario as Daura I gave him Katsina, then the father died and he inherited the duchy of kwararafa and became independent for some reason. If you could rewind this save and have Daura die first, the 3rd son won't inherit anything from from his father.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue


Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

Just wanted to see if anyone's taken a look at this yet. I haven't noticed a similar problem with confederate partition since but in previous (most deleted) saves I've always wondered why it never behaved like I thought it should.

The issue is not possible to reproduce from a save provided, since we are unable to "rewind" save games. Could you please provide precise information on the timeline of the events? We need to know which titles have been granted to which children, who died first, if any titles have been given to children before the liege's death, etc.

I can't provide any more info than what's in the save game. I'll load it up and go through the title history when I get a chance.

Looking through the history of the titles I now think it's not a bug. According to the title history the second son did get a duchy but apparently lost a claim war within days. I'm assuming "swore fealty" in the title history is a dialogue mistake and it should be "conquered as claimant", otherwise it may be a bug.

Playing on speed 5 it just looked like that was all instantaneous.

Before this gets closed I think I found a save that happens before either parent dies. In my first thread about this Daura's heir Dawo was given a county (I think Katsina), so he was Daura's vassal. In that scenario Daura's husband died first, Dawo inherited a duchy and became independent. Is that WAD and if not can you see if you can replicate it?

i've noticed a similar thing with "swore fealty" appearing in the title history for when Norse characters take a title - however it doesn't seem to be when they do it as adventurers, so is this something that can happen with declaring invasions, or is it just a really odd bug?

It shows up for both of the rulers below:

EDIT: same thing happened here with a Slovianskan russian king of Novgorod taking the Khazar Khanate (now Tsardom). All of these rulers are tribal, is it something to do with that?
