Short summary of your issue
Gameplay - Sayyid trait persists despite bastardy

Game Version
1.3.1

What OS are you playing on?
Windows

What platform are you using?
Steam

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Have you tried verifying your game files (Steam only)?
No

How much "pain" is this causing you?
1

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
My (Coptic, non-Sayyid) Ethiopian Emperor seduced a (non-Sayyid) wife of the Sayyid Abbasid Caliph, resulting in a bastard son. The Secret was quickly found out, I took the reputation hit, and I legitimized the bastard son into my court. Despite it being known that the true father was non-Sayyid me and not the mother's Sayyid Caliph husband, my son has the Sayyid trait. My son and I have congenital inherited traits (Genius, Herculean) and neither the Caliph nor the child's mother has those traits - so I know this isn't a case where I and the Caliph both falsely assumed a legitimate child was my bastard.

The attached save is slightly after the bug was observed (I was not able to find a save slightly before) and the impacted character is the younger of my character's two sons. No other character in my ancestry, family, vassalage or realm has the Sayyid trait, just this prince.

As much as this bug benefits me, this isn't right. Sayyid represents being a known patrilineal descendent of Mohammed, and this character is known to be my bastard son and thus known to NOT be patrilineal descendent of Mohammed. Since Sayyid represents the fame and reputation of a lineage and not genetics per se like Genius or Giant, the event that adds the Wild Oat trait (which the game did correctly) ought to wipe the Sayyid trait if the true father doesn't have it.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Have an illegitimate pregnancy where the mother's husband has the Sayyid trait and the true father does not. Have the illegitimacy outed, with the child known to be a bastard and outed as the child of the true father. Observe that the Sayyid trait is not removed in this chain of events.

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
It's worth checking if this bug also occurs for traits like Consecrated Blood, Divine Blood and Saoshyant Descendent which represent thematically similar "reputation of your lineage" values similar to Sayyid. If so, a fix where adding Wild Oat removes Sayyid ought to clear out traits like that too if the true father lacks them.

I have attached a save game
Yes
