Heir not being allowed to marry, still, almost immediately upon gaining land, he breaks the betrothal I'd set up and marries some random woman instead. Either this is a bug in itself, or the bug is that the checkbox for "allowed marriage" is not checked and frozen due to being landed.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Have son
Do not allow him to marry on his own, but give him a betrothal
Give him land
Watch him fuck up your breeding game

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

I have attached a save game

I am not 100% sure but I think landed characters decide their own marriages irrespective of whether or not you (dis-)allowed autonomous marriage before giving them land.

Yeah, that's my guess as well. But then the checkbox about allowing marriages need to be fixed, so that it doesn't appear like you have control over who your heir marries, if you, in fact, do not.

I also have this issue on the current 1.7.0 patch (with grandson instead of heir). 'Allow marriage' is unticked but he still does it anyway, even though he's already betrothed (multiple spouses are allowed, but now the betrothed becomes a secondary spouse...)

Happy to upload a game file if it helps.

But this not realistic in the game, in real life medieval era, the dynasty head was the only one, who has had the rights to arrange marriages for the entire dynasty or at least give his blessing for the marriage.

Hi there!

I'm unable to reproduce the issue, if possible, please attach a save before the character decides to marry off. The current attached save crashes when trying to load in.

Cheers!

Hey I have a reproducible save for you! Tested it twice. Template for completeness:

Short summary of your issue
Landed family member (grandson) gets married despite not being allowed to marry ('allow marriage' box unchecked in his interaction menu), and despite existing betrothal.

Game Version
1.7.0 (but tested on 1.7.1)

What OS are you playing on?
Windows

What platform are you using?
Steam

What DLC do you have installed?
All of it

Do you have mods enabled?
Yes, but not gameplay related

Have you tried verifying your game files (Steam only)?
No

How much "pain" is this causing you?
6.35/10

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
Gave my grandson (son of my heir) a barony title in my capital. His 'allow marriage' box is unchecked. He is also betrothed to a younger person. Despite this he gets married within a year or so.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
1) Go to pinned character
2) See he is betrothed and not allowed to marry
3) Run game at speed 5, hoping nothing drastic happens
4) By end of July 934 AD (about a year) he should have married a new primary spouse (tested twice, triggered in July 934 both times)

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
One thing to note - the character had recently returned from another court (IIRC his father inherited a foreign title without me noticing, so I had to break a bad betrothal and use a hook to bring him home)

I have attached a save game
Yes

Hello @Simon280586 !

I took your case, hence I'm replying instead of Polished Knight.

Thank you kindly for the save! It made reproduction so much easier. And indeed, I was able to confirm the issue and reported it in our database.

Have a great day!
