Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
I had an existing lover and then seduced the wife of a ruler. Then I started a scheme to murder the ruler whose wife was my lover.
Also schemed to kill my previous lover at the same time with the perk "Twice Schemed" from intrigue tree allowing me to have two offensive schemes.
Murdered my previous lover and erroneously got the achievement "The things we do for love".
Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Get the Twice Schemed perk.
Get two lovers, one of which is the spouse of a ruler.
Scheme the murder of the ruler and your lover(who is not the spouse of a ruler).
Murder your not-spouse lover (or anyone, really) while having the scheme to murder your lover's spouse still underway.
Get the achievement without murdering any lover's spouse.
Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
My guess is that the achievement checks if you are scheming to kill your lover's spouse when you successfully commit murder and then gives you the achievement, not accounting for the perk that allows you to have two schemes simultaneously.
I don't think my save file is much use, as the bug happened a while ago in the game. I just continued playing afterwards. It happened on my previous ruler.
I have attached a save game
Yes
