Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
I am currently a emperor and have scandinavian elective (gained through decision) however my capital and the corrosponding ducy is not given to my primary heir and has somehow reverted to partition succesion which leads to losing most of my developed land.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Make empire and kingdom, give it scandinavian elective via desicion, wait a couple of generation and bam then the problem show up. (this has happend in past versions when using tanistry as well)

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
Don´t know but am using a hybredised culture though the last generation was estonian they don´t have the ting-meet tradition. Have tried using mods to fix the issue that way but it did not work (am only using flavour mods otherwise)

Update. Im pretty sure this happen when you make a empire. Since i tried playing as someone else in the same region and made a kingdom and used the descion to change my succesion laws. Then the problems did not arise, the current character in that save game is the one that made the empire he rules. Hence why im pretty sure that is where things goes wrong (on empire creation)

I’m having the same issue with only kingdom/duchy being elective. Realm capital goes to oldest son despite a younger son being elected.

Having the same issue. I had no inheritance problems with scandinavian elective when I had a kingdom, but the moment I put scandinavian elective on my newly created empire, my heir wasn't even listed as a heir, just my first born son. I tried cheating in my non-ironman game and gave the title to my heir, but when I do heir goes to 2nd daughter (3rd child). I have double checked all inheritances and voting shows my heir is not getting the realm capital.

I have this issue since I negotiated Danelaw (King Tier) as Halfdan Whiteshirt. All Successions afterwards grant capital county and duchy to eldest child regardless of elected candidate. Also happenend in a short umodded run.

This is a known issue when you only have one of your highest tier title, so only one kingdom or only one empire, your primary duchy's holdings do no go to your elected heir. As soon as you have more than one Empire or no Empire and multiple Kingdoms, your entire primary duchy will go to your elected heir. This has been known since at least 1.3 and they still have not fixed it.

Thanks for the info. It's extremely disheartening to hear that a game breaking bug in a core feature has been neglected for so long .

I'm having same issue, only with my highest title being a single duchy where I own 2/3 of the counties. I also have 3 counties outside the duchy, five total.
If I switch of my oldest heir, he still gets my capital (which is de jure capital of the duchy) and if I select my daughter it says she gets only the duchy title. But that might be because I dont have equal, just male pref. Then again, should I be able to even select a female then?
Anyway, if I select my 3rd son, he does not get any counties within the duchy. I have let the game tick over to next month, even two but its still the same.
This is putting me off playing tribal norse, which is my favourite! It was always working fine pre RC dlc.
