Not to harp on this but since its in betatesting and has been for several weeks at least, don't you think some kind of update, any kind is to be expected. At this point in the vic beta testing phase there was more info coming out (of course anything is more than whats coming out of here) and i think the same with hoi. I mean, i dont see why they can't say anything at all. How hard would it be for an adminstrator to say: "week 3 of beta: nothing new to report but work continues" or something as mundane as that. I dont think that they would just cancel the project or put out some shoddy game just to be done with it, so i have to expect (hope?) that real work is going on to make the game better. But why is there no info whatsoever? Is anything happening, are they just hoping people quit caring and eventually drop off the board so eventually when the project gets cancelled it wont have a big impact since everyone quit caring months ago? I dont want to say i'm gonna quit visiting the boards or anything like that but at some point i'm gonna quit caring if i never hear anything that makes me assume that there is any work going on whatsoever.

Seriously, can someone from paradox or an admin tell me why you can't just post 1 line that says we are working on the game???????

No, no, no, no, no!

I dont want this to be another "give us a screenshot" thread. While I would enjoy a screenshot or any kind of game info at all, thats not what this is really about. I still don't fully understand the reason they can't release some game info but obviously they have their reasons. That's fine, i'll still ask for that stuff but thats not enough to change their minds and they must have their reasons. What i really dont understand is why they can't say anything at all.

Seriously!

I mean just a statement that, this person has spent 5, 10, 40 hours this week working with it or we didnt have time to work much on it this week, etc. It would take 5 minutes to write, doesn't have to give away any game secrets or anything. Its just when something this simple can't be done or won't be done, it gives me a weird feeling about the project altogether. Am I alone in this?????

I fully support you in this, roachclip76. We need info. By this time, the mods in the Victoria forum already let info leak into the board, whenever forumites gathered and asked or discussed topics. Could it be, that the developers have no access to this board? I can remember something like this, when they stopped updating the developer diaries.

Seriously, I know companies who overdo their pre-release information to make the people go wild and pre-order in Timbuktu, so they can receive the game as fast as possible. But this is ridiculous. I have not felt the urge to pre-order this game (if it was possible), although I am a fan of the medieval and have much faith in this project. How about the russian boards, is there anything going on over there?
 
I heard that sergei was quite active on Snowball forums. As for who the developer is right now, that would be Johan, so I am quite certain that he has access to the forums.:D :p
 
Well, this was always the "official" forum. Its always been a Paradox game, so these were always the people to talk to or ask questions about CK. Just because they outsourced the coding doesn't mean its not a Paradox game.

All I want is any kind of statement from Paradox or someone, anyone, affiliated with them. Anything. Why is that such a hard thing. Its been done in the past. And i dont want to hear anything about Snowball because it really doesn't matter whether snowball was making the game or it was being done in house. Its still and always has been a paradox game.

Strangely though the mods seem to have taken the day off because usually both these two thread would have been locked by now. I thought Thanksgiving was only an American Holiday! :)

As a forum admin I am affiliated. Here's a statement: It is in testing. We got a new patch just yesterday. We're making progress.

So how do I patricipate in the beta. i saw the link a long time ago but it said no beta test going on. I clicked then link at the Ck info section on the site. Is there any other games that are coming in the future that I can beta. I have an interest in these games. I thought it would be kind of cool to right a newspaper article on it. However, the main reason I want to beta, it to try out the game. Make it a better game, and see what it's like. So I could play the game before it came out.
 
For those who still didn't notice... now we have a new official screenshot of Crusader Kings. A very nice picture, whom you'll fall in love with! :D

That's not gonna happen if you beta test for Paradox, unless you get special permission. They apply the NDA very strictly - a tester is not allowed to release anything that is not already known to the public without prior approval. ;)

That's right! Total Club Manager 2004! I anticipate recieving it monday but we'll see. I've heard good and bad things about the site where i bought it. Gameplay.com ships to the US and my copy shipped the 24th. I've been gone all thanksgiving weekend and just got back today so i haven't missed not having it yet, but if its too much past monday i'll be a little upset. Still, at least I'm able to get it, I was very worried I wouldnt be able to get a copy, but thank you gameplay.com!!!!!!!

Ok, having a new screenshot is nice. But unfortunately it gives us very few insights of the game that we could discuss.

And btw I haven't felt in love with the new screenshot! Maybe because I am so reserved and never fall in love at first site :D
