We had a discussion here a little time back, discussing scenarios. Words from Sergei earlier this fall was that there will be one scenario released with the game, and that one or two more would be released with patches. So the question is: What additional scenarios do you want?

I'd like a startyear and maybe a short breakdown of why. When there are enough good suggestions I'll pollify it to give P/S something to work with :)

Well I guess I´ll shoot first then.

1. The hundred years war.

Well this eh frequently discussed war(s) has a 1000 what ifs. It pretty much shaped how the western part of europe was to be shaped. I´ll sure as hell like to see what I can do out of it and I bet many others do as well. As for when to start well your guess is as good as mine. It´s a long war after all and we all probably have a favourite part. Althoughthe death of Charles IV might be an interesting start it might prove a bit early.

I think I'll speak for many CK fans out there when I say: Hundred Years War :) A scenario kicking off at mid-14th century and ends in 1453 would be awesome; with all the historical personalities and major players.

Additionally, mid-14th century is also the time of beyliks in Asia Minor with dozens of Turkic states vying for power and the Byzantine Empire trying to survive amidst that chaos.

Ah but... Lest we forget the EMPIRE didn't fall until 1461. Long live House Comnenus!

Anywho... I must admit it would be nice to play the Empire of Trebizond, marry off a few daughters to Turkish Emirs... and perhaps, at long last, wrench Kaffa away from the bloody Genovese... why Alexius I ever sold it to the thrice-d****ed backstabbers, vexes me to no end. It is interesting that a mid-14th century start, should find Trebizond at war with Genoa. About the same time England and France go at it.

Maybe a scenario about the various religious uprisings and heresies such as the Albigeois or the Cathares in Southern France...

1190 - just before the third crusade. With famous monarchs like Frederik Barbarossa and Richard the Lionheart.

Agree on HYW and 3rd crusade. D'oh, can't think of anything else right now.

That would be one of my first suggestions too:

~1205 - After the fall of Constantinople (thus, you can play both the Greek factions struggling to regain power and the latins struggling to keep on to their catch) and just before the Albigensian crusade.

How 'bout 1185 and the last large Norman campaign agains Byzantium? :D

Starting around 1185/90 would also give the possiblity to (attempt to)preserve the Norman kingdom of Sicily :)

I like this one. You´ll be in for quite a ride if you try to do a successful reconstruction of the empire.

Exactly. And with (at least) four different factions with a claim to the same empire you'll get one helluva fight :D

What I like about this mostly is that the political part of this campaign might be much more interesting than the military part as all sides are going to be quite poor on everything except pride.

The Comneni in Trebizond were rich actually, thanks to some silver mines.

No real manpower though, and C'nople is a long way away.

  • A scenario around each crusade. :)
  • Frederick II - cant leave that out!!! :)
- Mongol invasions started 1223.
- Height of the reconquista: The battle of Las Navas de Tolosa in 1212.
- Frederick II (1194-1250), emperor ~1212

Hm... Seems all these could fit into a ~1205 scenario :)

1. Henry II coming to the throne in England.
2. War between Richard and John
3. 1204, last ditch effort to save Byzantium from the Latins, start with crusaders besiging Constantinople, only good player could win.

a 1204 scenario would also perfectly fit in order to play the Guelphs and Ghibellines conflict in northern Italy which had consequences at the European level.

Why not one big scenario including all the Crusades instead?
