This is something I really want to see. Can people help make a list of important events in the CK timeline 1066-1453. Then we can compile it all into one post so I can see where I want to play. My history is a little rusty i'm afraid as history isnt my focus in school but a pleasure.

I think good catagories would be:

battle
cultural
religious

The only one I can think of is the grand opening to CK:

battle: 1066 - Battle of Hastings. Normans take over england.

Godd idea Jaron!
I would like to add 1 categorie
Political

Here´s some events

The crusades, don´t know all the years, but 1204(Latin empire) should be there and 1099(Fall of Jerusalem).
Barbarossa invades Italy 1154-1158
Magna Carta 1215
The "Babylonian captivity" of papacy 1307-1377
The hundred years´war 1337-1453
Renaissance 1400 -
and of course
The fall of Constantinopel 1453.

Btw I saw when I write does that it can be hard to put the events under just one categorie.

1307 - The Knights Templar are arrested in France by Philip IV on Friday the 13th.

1187 - The Battle of Hattin. The 4th of July Saladin defeats the crusaders, including the "invincible" Knights Templar.

For some interesting crusader history, look here

I'd like to second Endre's proposal. Also, having catagories according to the region rather than "a culture" would indeed be more appropiate to avoid overlapping (Battle of Menzikert should be with the Near Eastern events rather than Byzantine or Turkish)

Your link don't work. But I can recommend
this site

Damn. Caught in the frames again. Sillius soddius!

I'll dig up the real hyperlink.

Any suggestions as to how to divide this?

I'd say:
Iberia
France
British Isles (including Ireland)
HRE or Central Europe
Eastern Central Europe
Scandinavia and the Baltic
Rus or Russia
Italy
The Balkans
Eastern Mediterranian
Outremer
Egypt...

Maybe North Africa instead of only Egypt... Those Almohad and Almoravid battles in Spain began on Maghreb. And Tunisia was a real maritime threat to South Italy and Malta.
