The easiest way to see that is to just try it

1. Start a CK game (doesn't matter which scenario)
2. Then choose 'export' (it is on the same menu as where you safe the game)
3. Give your exported game a name
4. Abort the game
5. Use windows explorer to go to C:\Program Files\Paradox Entertainment\Crusader Kings\scenarios\eu2
6. Copy the file in this folder to C:\Program Files\Paradox Entertainment\Europa Universalis 2\Scenarios\Save Games
7. Start EU2
8. In the save game section of the screen you will see your file
9. Load that file and see what has happened.

You can export the CK game at any time. Most EU2 provinces are broken into 2 or 3 CK provinces. If you picture the EU2 map you can easily see what CK provinces they are

EDIT
Or look in C:\Program Files\Paradox Entertainment\Crusader Kings\db\eu2_province.csv file and eu2_country.csv file

I tried that, and my serbian kingdom of 7 prov personal demesne transformed into Kosovo and Raguza  The only vasal I kept was Bosnia...

And Bulgarians somehow own Belgrade...

That is why I was wondering is there some sort of table...

You could try my improved converter, it's linked in my sig. It might not improve on your particular problem; if your seven demesne provinces are close together, they probably don't cover much more than two or three EU2 provinces, but it's an improvement in a lot of other ways. Also, as was pointed out, eu2_province.csv contains the conversion information. :)

This is my first post here and I hope someone can help me out.

I am trying to convert my CK game to EU II and it is not working. When I load EU II and click on the scenario I saved from CK, the program locks up and crashes. It has been quite sometime since I loaded EU II and CK onto my computer so I cannot tell at this point if I loaded any of the mod packs for either game (they were dormant for over a year until I found this forum to get me through my sticking points in both games). My gut tells me that I did not load any mods. I tried the 1.05 for CK and found I could not continue the gmae I had progressed so far in and got rid of it.

I do notice that with the game file I saved for conversion, it is a .eug file. In the saved file areas, I notice there are .eug and .eug.cfg files for each saved game from EUII.

What must I do to make this work?

I am certain I do not. I got rid of the 1.05 patch after reading some of the things it had that I was not sure I liked and also I could not continue my game after I loaded it. I do not know what patches I may have if any. Is there some way or where I can look to figure this out? It is possible I have no patches at all. I will go ahead and get the latest patch for EUII.

Thanks.

I loaded the EUII patch 1.09 and it works now! :)

I'm having problems with this as well. I have both CK and EUII with the latest patches(1.5 for CK and 1.9 for EUII, the save file I'm loading was started after I installed the 1.5 patch) and I loaded my saved CK game into the appropriate save game folder in EUII and tried to load it only to either have it freeze or display the message 'error: (scenarioinfo: unexpectedfield) SEL {Line=18 file scenario\savegame\file.eug'. I heard about the 'improved converter on this forum and tried to install it. However, the instructions in the thread seem to assume you have experience with javascript(needed to install the converter), which I do not. I even installed the latest JVM and tried to look for in my files only to be confronted with dozens of files called 'Java' and the only exe. files of those I clicked only brought up a DOS window that blinked and then vanished. I really don't know what else to do :( .

It sounds like you didn't actually ask for it to be converted (you have to do that in CK).

PS Javascript is not the same as Java! ;)

You have to convert while in CK? How do you do that? I thought you just hit the 'export' button in the save screen and then move the file from there to the EUII file.
I'm sorry if I'm sounding so noobish :(

Yes, that's correct - just worried you were copying the CK save directly to EU2... sorry!

Hmm... are you absolutely sure you have 1.09? It sounds like it's messing up on the new nation SEL (Seljuk Horde, added to 1.09) - can you check the version in the top left (startup screen of EU2)?

It says '1.07'. I'm sure I've downloaded and installed the 1.09 patch. I installed it again and it still says 1.07. I'm using the EU: Crown of the North disc that has both EUII and Crown of the North. Could that be the problem?
Dammit, I bought this over the internet from this guy thinking it would be plain EUII and he sends my the Crown of the North/EUII double disc  .

Are you sure you're selecting the right directory when you install 1.09?

I just noticed it doesn't seem to install in any directory. Where should I put it? Selecting the browse button brings up a list of files including the EUII scenarios folder. Should it go in there? I'm sorry if I'm being such a pain :(

Okay, installing it in the scenarios folder made the 1.09 appear in the upper left corner. When I clicked on my file it brought up the country shields. I clicked on my country and hit start and just as it started to load it said 'excel: file not found'. My joy was so short lived :(

No... you've just got to make sure it goes in the main EU2 folder. It definitely won't work in the scenarios folder :)

Well, for one thing you could send me a PM describing your problem, as the thread with my converter requests. It's pure chance that I came across this.

So, let's begin at the beginning. You appear to have correctly installed the JVM, good. Next, just as I say in the first post of the converter thread, you need to get a command window. In the command window, navigate to the directory where you unzipped the converter. Type

java -cp . Converter <MySaveGame.eug>

noting that Java is case sensitive. Report back what happens, preferably by PM.

Maybe you should wait till 1.09 is working first... (if that's not, no converter is going to help).

PS To KoM: Checked your converter thread recently? ;)
