So I recently got the first Crusader Kings Complete and noticed that you can export games to EU2. I was curious about this and looked for EU2 but could not find it, on steam or paradox plaza. Now I am inquiring on weather "For The Glory: A Europa Universalis Game" would work with the export/conversion from CK?

That is the case, but maybe on GoG or from Amazon?

You'd need to ask the author of that converter mod, but I rather doubt it.

The thing is I’ve read that it’s based on EU2. I was wondering if it’s like darkest hour where the game it’s based on is included and it’s basically just an extra mod. Because if that is indeed the case then it should most likely accept the officially exported game from CK, right? Idk much about these things, I’m working on common sense guess work

On a side note, why does paradox only ever seem to release official converters for Crusader Kings games. It’s be cool to not have to rely on third party things to have a mega campaign.

It's a bit of extra work - each time either game is patched, the converter must be as well.

I guess that makes sense, especially with all the updates they keep making for their games years later and all the dlc they make now. Still, feels like a bit of a shame and missed opportunity.

Actually they released precisely 1 converter, the CK2 to Eu4 one. As mentioned above it's a support nightmare, I very much doubt there will ever be any more.

Another point is that the gap between the end of CK2 and the start of EU4 is relatively small. That would not be the case for say I:R to CK2 or EU4 to HOI4.

No actually when you buy Crusader Kings Complete the base game actually comes with an option to export games to EU2. Hence why I started this.

Yes however converting from EU4 to Vic2 wouldn’t be too much of a time jump. Although it’s probably complicated it is possible. But yes I can see how much of a nightmare having a converter for every game would be. This I concede.

Ok just fidget around with the files a little bit and ignore critical errors and it does indeed work. Just gotta copy one of the mod files delete all but the scenarios (and if you want some ck flavor keep and edit the music and gfx. And I also kept the logs and screenshots folder cause why not I guess.) then delete all but one scenario, go to your Crusader Kings files and where your save games and scenarios and such are you should find a folder for the converted EU save game. Take it to the scenarios of for the glory. Now it will be in the wrong format so just go into notepad and copy and paste all the info into the last scenario file you left there. You don’t need the folder associated with the scenario, delete it. Boom that did it for me. So glad I got it to work.

People convert EU games to Vicky, not to HoI.
