Will you be able to continue the dynasty throughout EUII?
CK will export a save game file that EU2 can open but the game engine from that point forward will be EU2's engine, so no...just probable that the map will look somewhat different to the one you're used to. ;)

EDIT: by which I mean the countries you'll see in the kingdom screen...not a change in the map itself.

What will be very curious to me is when we get to the point of being able to do this conversion, if it will work with popular mods.

I use EEP now and plan on upgrading to AGCEEP once I am done with my current HOI CORE game :D

I love the mods, and will be hopeful that CK Mod xyz will be able to upload into EUII and you can continue with AGCEEP.

that would be great

Well, that sucks! I would like to continue my family until 1819, hopefully until 1945!!!

How about the ROTW?

would be, but won't be possible unless the EU2 mod in question uses the same revolt.txt as the new Vanilla GC...

so it's possible, but basically this would largely mean a new EU2 mod, able to handle all the different outcomes of the CK campaign.

I'm not 100% sure since I'm not involved in testing that particular feature. I would expect that the ROTW will be as per usual and only the CK regions will be mapped onto the new and existing tags.

If CK is anything like EU2, you can probably just go into the text file containing the parameters for your scenario and type in a later end-date instead of the one provided by default. I don't know what the latest date you cound extend the game to would be. (Of course, doing this would mean you would continue to have a feudal-type system, with medieval technology right into the 20th century).

Do we have any idea how possession of islands that don't exist in EU2 will be converted into property in that game.

Well, I do hope that certain things can be changed, such as the religious makeup for Sub-Saharan Africa change a bit if all of the North Africa is converted and in Christian hands.... Also, I hope cultural changes will be possible to carry over to EU2 to allow for some unhistoric (but plausible) fun!

What about Monarchs to extinct nations? Will AGC-EEP create a score of them which will be added to a future patch? I can see Leon being given the leaders and rulers of Spain for simplicity though, and so on.

If you check the latest EU2 beta you will see that some of them are already added :)

Oh how i wish we could play it now....

i find myself stuck making new scenarios for EU2 in the meanwhile.... just to have something to do! =P

then of course i have to untill it comes out in some i-don't-know-what-store in my vincinity.... 65 km to the nearest big city.... blergh!
wish i had cash to pre-order it!

Oh and i hope by gods there is a sepperate province/earldom (or similar) for Scania!
poor little Scania who's been pushed around for... 1000-1200 years by the evil Svealänders and the Danes!

Between 1043-1536 the scanians revolted 12 times against the danes! and 6 times formed an autonomous kingdom.
and between ~800-1050 it was at times an independent kingdom and other times a danish earldom.
the danish line of kings from 1047, originated in Scania!

hmmppff... well there! now make my Scania playable =o)

lovely! =)))

but oh gods... now i REALLY have to (finally) make the changes to my scenarios to be able to fully enjoy the new changes... huga!

oh agony the time it will take, the time it will take!
just thinking of that horrible text.csv file... **shiver**

And if Paradox creates a Sims(TM) converter you can continue your family through the present day!

But...think of how they'd all look!

Semi-Related Question: will 1.08 have the same troop support as 1.07? I started a 1.07 game as Poland, had to disband most of my army because the support used up a ridiculous proportion of my income, then uninstalled and wen't back to 1.05.

That's cool. But I guess there are quite a few instances where the ruling dynasty simply died out or degenerated to nothing, making "realistic" rulers for extinct nations impossible. How will this be handeled? Again, I guess the simplest thing would be to add rulers and leaders from nations that are similar.

A final question, do you have any insight into how core lands and cultures will be dealt with? If Denmark manages to absorb all of Scandinavia in CK, will all the provinces the nation holds upon conversion be made core-lands?

As I did the monarchs for some of the French tags that had no rulers in the EU2 period I can say what I did. It's mostly based on a local dynast, like the ones for Artois who are based on the counts of Nevers, and for Picarie where I used the Counts of St. Pol :)
