The Iron Throne.png

The Second Dance
Prelude

Maester Alester Tarly.jpg

By Maester Alester Tarly

In order, dear reader, to realise the impacts of the second dance of the dragons, we must understand it’s causes. Daegar I’s reign had been one potmarked by rebellion and civil strife. Daegar’s grandfather Daemon’s reign saw a crusade of conquest of Essos followed by decades of peace, though his son’s reign followed suit with plots and power plays lurking every corner. Daegar’s attempts to follow his grand fathers footsteps would result in further instability. These struggles would place the pieces that would lead to the second Dance of the Dragons.

King Daegar.jpg

Daegar’s reign started in war. The Sunlander invasion had been the greatest threat to the Iron Throne since Daenerys I’s reconquest. They had arrived en masse with 30 dragons in tow, more than a match of House Targaryen and it’s bannermen. They had concentrated their forces in the Neck and the North, knowing the could not take Westeros in one fell swoop the invaders had opted to take the most defensible region of Westeros and use it to launch a proper war. Daegar’s farther Aegon VI ‘the Dragon father’ would die in the open year of the war, not in battle or in the skies but in his bed, slipping into a coma before the stranger came for his soul.

King Aegon VI.jpg

Sunset Invasion.jpg

Daegar would go on to repel the Sunlanders, ridding the world of most of their dragons and his family claiming those that remained. How Daegar defeated this threat can be found in the works of Grand Maester Athelwane, such as the Century of the Fyre, a history of 298 AC to 402 AC. This victory would start Daegar’s reign in respect this boon would soon turn sour. His vassals grew discontent with his focus on his family and his use of the royal coffers to fund the construction of castles for his growing House and its cadet branches to reside in. The first threat to reign would come in 392 AC, when his cousin Vaela Targaryen, fled the realm with several minor lords to Ghiscar. There she gathered an army some 10,000 strong and made bear her intention to sit the throne and reinstate the proper order of things to the realm. Trouble is little Vaela had little support. Her time studying those beyond the Wall had left her a firm believer in the Old Gods, using methods of worsip she observed the Wildlings performing she had become heretical even in the eyes of the northerners. She was not destined to rule well.

She would attempt to match her force to Draconys and then Volantis, and use it as a base to launch her attack on the rest of the realm. Daegar’s hand and bastard uncle Lord Maegon Fyreblood predicted this and devised a plan to stop Daegar’s errant cousin in her tracks. At the ambush of the Demon road, Daegar and Maexys threw down Vaela and her dragon Raeliphax while Vaena Velayron atop Viserion and Lord Commander Viserys Targaryen on Saegon would decimate Vaela’s force. Daegar would however suffer from permanent burn scars along his neck and jaw, leaving him often in Ill health.

Death of Vaela and Raeliphax.jpg

Daegar would however return to Kings Landing from squashing one rebellion only to find another rising in its place. Lord Dunstan Rykker would lead the Greyjoys and a number of Crownland houses in rebellion against the crown. While Daegar would quickly stomp this rebellion, the dragon Saegon would be killed by Lord Rykker and Rykker would further evade punishment after capture by citing, and winning a trial by combat, slaying Ser Daemon Seafyre.

Death of Saegon.jpg
Damon II Rykker.jpg

The only punishment Daegar would met out would be stripping all house of the Blackwater rush of their domains and confining them to smaller estates. In their former lands. The domains would be various members of the Targaryen family, with Prince Corlys, the kings young brother, being named Lord of the Blackwater Rush. Notably, Prince Viserys Targaryen, the kings second born son and a legitimised bastard of his union with his niece, the late Vissera Targaryen would be named Lord of Bramsfort and wedded to Lady Daelys Truedrake.

Lord Corlys Targaryen.jpg
Lord Viserys Targaryen.jpg

The final tragedy of King Daegar’s reign would be the death of Crown Prince Jaeherys days before his accession to the title Lord of Dragonstone. King Daegar’s succession was never imperilled, having 6 Sons and 2 daughters though the loss of his heir would be the crux around which the second dance came to pass. Jaeherys killer would never be found nor known, with conflicting reports over the identity of the killer. Some would name a young kitchen wench while others one of the guards and some witnesses stating they saw a Kingsguard stab the Prince through the throat. The young Prince did not die without issue however, leaving the king grandsons, named Aemon and Viserys by his wife Syaella Fyreblood, daughter of the hand of the King. Young Aemon, only 2 Summers old at the time of his fathers death would be named the heir to the throne and would later become Crown Prince and Lord of Dragonstone.

King Daegar himself would die in 402 AC in the waning months of Summer, with a cancer of the body taking him in the end. Within days of his death war would break out between the Blacks and the Blues.

Forget Aegons conquest, a better story might be how us Targaryen AAR writers are taking over the forums!

Very interesting start, especially since I have never seen a ck2agot aar with the sunset invasion enabled and it was cool to see them involved, albeit briefly.

You mentioned that much of Essos has been captured by the Targaryens, would you mind including a picture of the empire in the next chapter?

Will the Aztecs have a lasting effect on Essos or Westeros?

It seems as if this great kingdom will soon fall.

There do seem to be a lot of us TargAAR writers xD

the sunset invasion won’t be covered in this AAR as it’s specifically about the events of the second dance, and the sunset invasion occurred before. Though it will be included in another AAR I’m writing alongside tbis that’s a history book AAR of the first 100 years since Daenerys retook the throne.

I’ll put a photo of the realm in the next post don’t worry!
Good luck! Looks like an interesting scenario. The Targs are in a good position, but multiple Dragon Riders are a perfect recipe for disaster.

Killed a Dragon and won a Trial by Combat? Lord Rykker was so badass!
Lord Rykker definitely knew how to live, shame he didn’t live to the second dance? His grandson though…

Will the Aztecs have a lasting effect on Essos or Westeros?

not really, most of the Riverlands was wastelanded but it recovered over the reign of Daegar, and the sunset invasion isn’t what this is about, that will be covered in another AAR

Notable Characters Part I

Before getting into the events of the second dance, the key players. And to understand the players, we must understand the board that they play on too. Below is a map of the realm as of 402 AC. On it are inscribed the major houses of each region, as well as House Hightower, consort house of the Crown. I know not whether this map should grow, or if some ill should fall upon the realm, it may shrink, though there is not denying that at no point in the Iron Thrones history has the Realm been stronger than it was on the day of King Aemon II's ascendancy to the Throne.

The Realm.jpg

Notable Characters

King Aemon II

King Aemon II.jpg
Queen Ameria Hightower.jpg

Zaegossos.jpg

Aemon would sit the throne the day his father died, believing peacefully that his accession to the throne and his rule would be one of peace. Aemon was initially by all accounts a kind and humble man, trained by Ser James Leavy, master of arms to his grandfather and later Aemon himself. A competent commander and rider of the dragon Zaegossos, nicknamed by the small folk ‘The Scarlet Ghost’, Aemon initially shaped up to be seem potentially a competent and wise king. His blood would be his downfall. The widespread disdain of his grandfather was carried down to him, but it was not just just disdain of his paternal grandfather that spurred the high lords of Westeros against the young King, but hatred of his maternal grandfather too. In spite of the opinions of the lords of the realm Aemon married suitably, marrying the lady Ameria Hightower. A match that would prove fortuitous as their just natures would cause them to have a friendly relationship, better than some royal marriages though not like that of Jaeherys and Alysanne or Rhaenys and Corlys.

Lord Hand Maegon Fyreblood

Lord Maegon The Hand.jpg

Founder of the Targaryen cadet house Fyreblood, Lord Maegon was a stout man, a bastard of King Daemon ‘the One-Eyed’, he was as prolific as his father, being blessed eight daughters and a single son, though some may say cursed instead. Lord Maegon’s diligence did not restrain itself to the bedroom however, a hardworking and authoritative man according to his friends and a crafty and arbitrary schemer according to his enemies, Maegon is adept with the word of the law and the logistics of getting around it. Lord Maegon was in addition a recluse, a shy man whose while authoritative was not one to socialise and had few if any real friends. Instead he spent his diligence bartering a number of favourable matrilineal marriages for his daughters and marrying others to power lords and even the late King Daegar, a marriage he arranged at the start of his ‘reign’ as hand. While his abilities stood his house in good stead, and a favourable future, his lack of political finesse meant his game playing was often open and plain, meaning those who did not seek favour with the Hand, often worked against him. His dragon, Vaedax, may have been one of the few things that has kept Lord Maegon alive. Notably also, Maegon is in fact not a Lord, but a Ser, with his title confered upon him through reputation rather than birth or dominion. One particular rival to Lord Maegon would be Lord Viserys of Bramsfort, or to his supporters King Viserys III. Furthmore Lord Maegon has served as hand for three kings, Daemon, his father. Daegar, his brother and Aemon II, his great-nephew.

Prince Viserys, the Elder, Lord of Bramsfort

Lord Viserys Targaryen of Aemon's Reign.jpg
Gatherys.jpg

Viserys was always an out spoken and commanding man, similiar in measure to the Lord Hand, however unlike him Viserys was gregarious and charming, often enabling to hide his ambitious and selfish nature and pull people toward his side. On top of the qualities Viserys had an astute mind and a shrewd intellect, allowing him to be a capable and powerful strategic thinker. Viserys despite being Daegar’s second born son was also a bastard of King Daegar and the lady Vissera Targaryen whom was married to Lord Daelys Truedrake, another Targaryen bastard who formed his own house. Viserys would marry one of his half siblings, Daena Truedrake and as mentioned would be named as lord of Bramsfort. Lord Viserys would also become the second rider of the adult dragon Gatherys, a gold dragon that is smaller for its age though far more nimble and agile. Viserys would often take Gatherys out hunting, with the dragon picking single deer out of a herd each trip, which has amongst smallfolk earned the dragon the nickname 'Deerbane'.

In the latter years of his fathers reign, Lord Viserys would openly style himself as rightful heir to the throne, and was not on speaking terms with his late brothers nephews. Few would know how truly deep the Targaryen division ran. His personal sigil would be a blue dragon on a black field instead of the traditional red of House Targaryen, earning his supporters the nickname the blues.

Prince Viserys, The Younger, Heir of Aemon and Prince of Dragonstone

Prince Viserys the Heir.jpg
Drogon The Black King.jpg

Prince Viserys is as of 402 AC the current heir to King Aemon II, his older brother, and is wedded to Lianna Lannister, a marriage forged to keep House Lannister which has ran estranged from the crown in check. Viserys has never fancied the art of war, refusing to train with the sword or another weapon, in spite of his naturally strong physique and natural capability with both his hands. Young Viserys instead prefers to use his mind, lending it too politics and the works of the Court. By all accounts the young prince seeks to one day to his brothers master of whispers, should Ser Rhaegal Seafyre ever fall out of favour. Most notably though about the young prince is that he is the latest rider to Drogon, Daenerys 'Stormborn's dragon, and the largest by of all the Targaryen dragons.

Lord Triston II Hightower

Lord Triston II Hightower.jpg
Lady Janyra Strongtower of House Hightower.jpg

Lord Triston Hightower is the current head of House Hightower and Lord of Oldtown. Newly ascended the title, he follows in the footsteps of his mother, the Lady Janyra 'Strongtower', or as she was once known, 'The Last Tower' as she was at one point, the last of House Hightower. As his mother has single handedly not only rebuilt her House, but made them the second most powerful House in the reach once more, if not as powerful, as House Tyrell, their liege lords, leaving Triston big shoes to fill.

Lord Corlys Targaryen 'The Dragon' of Blackwater Rush

Lord Corlys Targaryen.jpg
Viserion.jpg

Lord Corlys was made Lord of Blackwater Rush by King Daegar, his brother and was granted a wife, his bastard cousin Baenys 'Waters'. Under him are Lord Raegor Targaryen of Byford and Lord Daenar Targaryen of Mosborough, with the region having the largest concentration of dragons outside of Dragonstone and the mouth of the Blackwater. Lord Corlys was always devoted to his brother, however his great-nephew less so. He has been a close friend of his nephew, Lord Viserys of Bramsfort for sometime and has allied their houses by marrying his Son Daelys to Viserys eldest daughter, Visenya. Corlys is however a reputable commander with battlefield experience, havent led the invasions of Lorath and Qohor under King Daegar personally, as well as being sent to drive back Dothraki raiders more times than many would care to count. Lord Corlys has done this mainly atop his dragon, Viserion, the third largest Targaryen dragon after Drogon and Rhaegon, though Viserion is only slightly larger than the dragon Verithor or the Sunlander dragons Tyriax and Volon.

I have a feeling Viserys of Bramsfort will be one of the key players in the upcoming second dance, do any Targaryens hold land in Essos or are they mostly confined to Westeros, the late Daeger would have done well to spread them out a little.

Out of curiousity (since 400 ac is a rare start date for an AAR) did you always intend to do an AAR or were you doing a playthrough and found it would be well suited for writing?

Is the Second Dance going to be Aemon vs. Viserys the Elder?

If you refer to the map in the 1st section of notable characters then when you look toward North Valyria and Ghiscar you ight see another Targaryen Sigil... whose that is will be revealed in the next post.

So I'm writing two AARs side by side, a overall history book detailing notable events from Daenerys I, to the reign of the second Queen, to sit the Iron Throne (or third if you count Rhaenyra. So roughly 299 AC to 420 AC (Massive I know) and the this second smaller AAR about the second dance which is inside of the reign of Daegar - [Whoever wins the dance]. That said this campaign has been well suited, as I originally started it as a Stark playthrough but ended up putting Daenerys on the throne and marrying Jon Snow to her. Then flipped over to the Targaryen's and it just got more interesting from there, especially when Rhaegal and Viserion were both hatched with fertile traits and then I received not 1 but 2 Summerhall dragon egg events (no clue how) leaving me with 5 dragons by 305 AC. Within 10 years that number had almost doubled and both Daenerys and Viserys had produced a healthy number of new Targaryens. Admittedly I did cheat and made Aegon a Blackfyre, felt that 3 Targaryens that early was too much. Oh how that changed....

Interesting. Maegon gives me the impression of being a Bloodraven who rides a dragon. The question is whether he will remain loyal to Aemon and young Viserys.

The elder Viserys and Corlys together are a threat to be taken seriously without a doubt. War seems to be a matter of time.
Maegon has Stark blood so who knows, that said it is actually Viserys 'The Beggar King' line that has powerful warging abilities, as Viserys would marry one of Brandon Stark (brother of Eddard Stark) bastard daughters, and many of their descendants have Warg blood still running through their veins.

Is the Second Dance going to be Aemon vs. Viserys the Elder?

Notable Characters Part 2

Lord [Paramount] Valarr of the Isle of Dragons

Lord Paramount Valarr Targaryen.jpg

Lord Valarr Targaryen, rider of the dragon Melirexes is current Lord Paramount of the Isle of Dragons, the furthest flung territory of the Iron Throne, formerly known to the North Valyrians and Ghiscari in Slavers Bay as the Isle of Cedars. Lord Valarr's distance from the throne has allowed him and his father before him, Lord Vaeron Targaryen, to act independently of the throne, Often raiding the slave cities and burning their fleets. Valarr is even known to have flown to the Kingdom of the Basilisk Isles, ruled by a King Vaegono Saetyx, a pirate king and acquinance of Lord Valarr. The Targaryens here, living so close to their ancestral homeland see themselves as other to the House Targaryen of King's Landing. While those in Westeros intermarry between cadet houses and cousins, or infrequently to high lords of the realm, the Targaryens of the Isle of Dragons usually marry brother and sister only, or one of their two vassal houses, House Raemanagar and House Kaenys. In almost 70 years since Daemon 'the One-eyed' took the Isle of Cedars from the Slaver cities, no Targaryen of these islands has married outside of them, and rarely left their Island fortress of Elos, built and styled after Dragonstones castle. To be put simply, what the Eastern dragon's want, no-one knows.

Lord Aerion Velaryron, Master of Tides, Master of Ships and Lord of the Blackwater

Lord Aerion Velayron.jpg

Lord Aerion Velayron is the latest lord of Driftmark. An ambitious and proud man, he has sought to stay close to his liege lords and continue to honor the ancient alliance between Targaryen and Velaryon. He rides the young dragon Vatherys, offspring of Lord Viserys dragon Gatherys. However Aerion, while loyal has done little of note other than sit the Driftwood throne, a stable reign to be sure but an unremarkable one so far, and reigning in ones ambition will only go on for so long.

Ser Jaenyx Goldfyre

Jaenyx Goldfyre.jpg
Rhaegal.jpg

Ser Jaenyx Goldfyre is the second born son of Ser Rhaegar Goldfyre, the great bastard of King Daemon. Ser Jaenyx is for the most part unremarkable, his ruthless and stubborn nature has been counterbalanced by his humility and his fear. He is no great fighter, and was knighter at two-and-twenty by Ser Rodrik Leavy, Brother of the later Ser Kevan Leavy, Lord of Levistone Keep. Ser Jaenyx's only feat is his taming of the ancient dragon Rhaegal, third of the three orginial dragons.

Rhaegal however despite it's age, its temprament or its affectioante nature is equally an unremarkable dragon, seeing little combat through the Sunlander invasion, and only a midling sized dragon, outsized by a dozen other dragons.

Ser Jaenyx however was a mentor to both Lord Viserys and King Aemon at varying points. Furthermore he has married well for his house, marrying the Lady Alanna Baratheon, of Robert 'the Usurper' line.

Lord Daemon II Targaryen of Sweetport Sound

Lord Daemon II (SS).jpg

Lord Daemon is an unkind man, sporting an almost fanatical obession with the flame, he is closely bonded with his dragon Daerithor, whom hatched in his cradle and who Daemon's personal sigil, the single head of a dragon is stylised after his dragon. Daemon's family reside in King's landing for the most part, out of fear of their father or maybe out of love for their King instead. Daemon's sister Rhaenyra is lady of the Castle of Dragonport, and Daemon's sole vassal. Along with his lady wife Daemon has 3 dragons under his yoke, and he is not one to be trifiled with, for his abilities lay not only with flying beasts, but also in commanding armies. Lord Daemon is yet another proven commander, leading offensives across Essos and aiding House Saerys in putting down a number of R'hllor rebellions in the early decades of their rule. A powerful commander and a dreaded man, those who are on Daemon's side may sleep peacefully, and those who cross him may have nightmares of him.

Lord Aemond Targaryen of Summerhall

Lord Aemond Targaryen of Summerhall.jpg

Lord Aemond, rider of the dragon Malerion, was named first Lord of the rebuilt keep of Summerhall by King Daegar. Lord Aemon is a lustful man, regardless of his reasons, having fielded 3 bastard sons, including Ser Owain Targaryen. Having married the daughter of one of the neighbouring Stormlander lords, in an effort to keep the piece and prevent having to unleash his dragons on his cousins subjects. See, Summerhall is yet another place where a colony of dragons reside with 8 dragons in residence at Summerhall, most of which hunt along the Dornish passes and the River Mander, as far south as Starfall and as far West as Oldtown.

Lord Aemond is faithful to the crown, once serving briefly as an advisor to King Daegar before Lord Aemond's bastards were revealed, resulting in his ejection from Daegar's small council. It cannot be denied that militarily Lord Aemond is influential, bringing prehaps a small levy, but enough dragons and dragon riders to War with him to decimate any host 10 times the size of his. Such things are known by the Lords of the River Mander, and the Lords of Storm-mountains from their dealing with Aemond.

The Lords of the Crownlands

Now, while House Targaryen holds considerable land in the Crownlands (and further afield, such as Summerhall and the Isle of Dragons), they are not the only house with station their. Their lords vassal, many new, many long reigning, have shaped this area of Westeros, and their decisions in the dance will shape it further for years to come. These houses, while each have their own histories have little of note. The stag houses of the Kingswood, of Hayford, of Rosby and of Stokeworth are largely follows of their true lord in the Stormlands, Lord Baratheon, instead of their liege lord, the King. Furthermore, Lady Unella Celtigar has become the first of her line to fly a dragon, and it remains to be seen if her issue will follow suit.

However the Crownlands lords are not the only Lords whom which King Aemon has dominion over. The list below details the Lord Paramounts of the realm.
It should be noted that Lord Jon Stark, Lord Tywin Lannister and Lord Peron Stonehind are all second of there name, and Lord Haerys of House Saerys is Third of his name.

Reminds me of a certain someone.

Thats a lot of Lord Paramounts, what happened to the Tullys, did they go extinct or fall out of favor with the throne?

Looking forward to see the decisions of these Lord Paramounts in the coming dance, also an interesting area on the Isle of Dragons.

Certainly does doesn’t it

the Tullys were always on the brink of extinction since the Targaryen restoration, mainly due to constant fighting among Rivelords, and against the North and The Vale. When the Sunlanders invaded they succeeded initially in taking the Riverlands before launching an invasion of the North, and in taking the Riverlands high-horns by the hundreds were sacrificed the the Western Gods, including the entirety of House Tully save for 2 Bastard Sons; Lucamore of House Steeltrout, Lord of the Riverlands and Lord of Oldstones and Grenn of House Redriver, Lord of Riverrun.

Saerys and Saerystos are descendants of Saera, daughter of Jaehaerys I? I've never seen these dynasties in the game.
Yes they are, they’re added in the more bloodlines mod I believe as other High Valyrian houses, as are House Drace, Lords of North Valyria. House Saernyar also exists but as Lords of Sar Mell.

Surprised that the Baratheons not only survived but several of their branches are important houses of the Realm.
Why were the Baratheons spared? Do their descendants still have a claim to the throne?
All 3 Baratheon brothers survived, Robert ended up at the Wall, his son Edric was legitimatised and his other bastards formed houses of their own. Stannis’s line died out with Shireen, so Renly and his line took over for a few generations but took to frequently rebelling, so Edric Baratheon great grandson Gulian Baratheon was named Lord of Storms End instead.

the bastard houses have 4 duchies of the Crownlands and 5 Kingdoms under their control including the Stormlands. They mostly intermarry and follow the lead of House Baratheon, acting as a large unified block.

The best option was taken to avoid the ar and paint Daenerys and Jon as kind, benevolent rulers. Especially once news of Jons heritage was revealed it, Robert looked the fool. Plus Stannis never converted to the Red God in this timeline and 3 Dragons is a convincing reason not to rebel.
Was Jon a Stark in your playthrough?
He was a Stark-Targaryen. Though martilenerly married to Daenerys so his kids are all Targaryen.

The Black Coronation

Upon his father's death, Aemon would quickly announce his coronation giving the high lords of Westeros a fortnight to arrive at the capital. Aemon II would retain his fathers hand, his grandfather Lord Maegon Fyreblood as well as much of the small council, save for naming Lord Aerion Velayron his new Master of Ships and inviting Lord Paramount Tywin II to be an advisor on his small council, as a gesture of good faith to House Lannister. The seat would never be taken.

Aemon's Small Council.jpg

When the day of the coronation came the small folk came out in force, however over the days before growing concern arose as Lords Paramount and Lord Vassal like neither responded nor arrived for the coronation. Lord Tywin II Lannister, Lord Gulian Baratheon, Lord Lyonel Tyrell, Prince Laryn Martell of Dorne and the Lords of the three Stags (formerly known as the three daughters) as well as various Crownlander lords and minor Lords from the North and Riverlands. More curious however was the lack of various House Targaryen and Truedrake members. The coronation itself was an equally dubious affair. The rains poured heavily on the castle walls purportedly and a great storm raged over Kings Landing, stretching as far North as Maiden Pool, and as far East as Claw Isle. Soothsayers and superstitious folk named the Storm a bad omen, a portent of another Baratheon rebellion for a Storm sent by the Lord of Storms End or a sign that Aemon was not chosen by the Seven. None the less Aemon's nature stood him in good stead with the smallfolk and incidents in the capital were kept to a minimum, and usually the result of inebriation or small scuffles. Ser Viserys Targaryen, Lord Commander of the Goldcloaks was diligent in his duties that day, keeping order and peace in the capital. His dragon Verithor, an 101 year old dragon white and grey older dragon thought to be the offspring of Vermithor was often seen buckling the roofs of houses under its great weight, snarling and growling at peasants who threatened Ser Viserys in any way.

Ser Viserys Targaryen, Lord Commander of the Gold Cloaks.jpg

The Master of Whispers, the bastard of the late lord Rhaegar Velayron, Ser Rhaegal 'Water's' of House Seafyre, Lord of Wendwater castle, would report to the king and his small council that through his ‘little birds’ he'd discovered that many of the missing lords and attendees had in fact gathered nearby at Bramsfort. Here-in the missing lords and ladies had sworn oaths to see Lord Viserys of Bramsfort to see him on the Throne. They had named him King Viserys, Third of his name. The lords had then in the time it had taken for this news to reach Ser Rhaegal, dispersed and presumably had set off back to their respective lands to raise armies. The small council assembled quickly to discuss the situation that was unfolding and come up with a solution to avert the crisis and avoid spilling blood.

Blood of the Knight

The first blood of the dance would be spilled on the road to Bramsfort. King Aemon, in an effort to prevent war dispatched a small of riders led by his mentor Ser Durran Leavy. Their objective was to escort Lord Viserys back to the Red Keep for questioning. The King and his council knew any display of force may cause this crisis to escalate, and no one on the council wished another Targaryen civil war. Most highborn were well aware of the dying of the dragons, and even if the number of dragons was a hundred strong at this point, such a war could ruin not just the Targaryen dynasty, but the Realm. Not much is know about exactly what happened next as there are no survivors of the event but Lord Viserys intercepted the riders atop his dragon Gatherys. Bones and ashes would be all that remained, with the stink of burnt flesh permiating the air for miles allegedly.

Days later an envoy would arrive with a satchel containing the charred remains of Ser Durran's armour, and a small urn of ashes. Alongside them would be a note that read;

We the Lords of the Westerlands, the Reach, the Stormlands and Dorne, Tyrosh, Myr, Lys, the Iron Islands, Andalos, The Isle of Dragons, The Rhoynar, the Crossing, The Velvet Hills, The Dreadfort, The Hill Clans, The Barrowlands, Duskendale, The Kingswood, Cracklaw, Sweetport Sound and Blackwater Water Rush recognise Prince Viserys Targaryen, Third of his name, King of the Andals, The Rhoynar and the First men, Sovereign of the Essosi and the Free Cities and Lord of the Twenty Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm as rightful heir to the Iron Throne. Yield it, or there will be fire and blood.”

The note was penned by Lord Valarr of the Isle of Dragons, whom as far as the court was concerned was still residing in his Island Fortress of Elos. The same day, a raven would arrive carrying a message from Volantis stating a massive fleet had been sighted passing the Orange shore, bearing the sigils of Lord Valarr Targaryen, alongside 4 dragons. Similiar reports from all the neighbouring kingdoms to the Crownlands reported a mustering of arms, and reports of fighting in the North was soon received too. The Dance had begun.

Truly a massive war brewing, King Aemon certainly appears to be the underdog based on that lengthy (!) list of rebels royal to Viserys. Given the proximity between Kings Landing and Bramsfort, It appears that the crownlands shall burn, and Kings Landing will likely not be spared the flames either, also I did not know dragons had their own family trees, you learn something every day.

Well, that's a long list. It seems as if there is even dissent within kingdoms.

Let's hope that the dragons can survive another Dance.

This Second Dance is going to be a giant disaster for the entire world practically. At least that's how I feel if I had population mechanics xD
