Hello,

First time poster so please forgive if this is in the wrong area or has already been addressed.

I recently subscribed to this mod on steam. I started CK2 and tried to start a new game. I have all the CK2 DLC released with the ultimate edition or something like that. I am only able to start a new campaign from year 1337. No other start time is even available. I did read the CK2+ installation and it stats that it is compatible to CK2 dlc but not any mods. I do not have any other mods installed other than what came with the ultimate edition and the only mod I have from steam workshop is CK2+.

Any idea why CK2+ does not work with doc released by paradox? I do not have any of the latest dlc like conclave or horse lords.

Thanks for any suggestions advise.

Simple
Ck2 + is not updated for Concave yet so they are not compatible as of right now.

I do not have conclave.
No, but you have Paradox's free patch that came out with Conclave. Plus isn't compatible with the newest version of the game yet

If you want to play with plus enabled, you can right click ck2 in steam, click properties, then betas and pick the 2.4.5 beta, I believe that is the version of ck2 that the latest version of plus is compatible with :)

Maybe it's just not meant to be :-(

I did as you mentioned and rolled back CK2 to beta 2.4.5 and subscribed to CK2+. However, after hitting play game and selecting the mod the game goes back to desktop from the loading screen. I do not get any error message it just goes from the first loading screen right back to desktop.

If you did that today that's because CK2+ was just updated to be compatible with conclave and the workshop version would actually now not work with that version of CK2. Just bad timing I think haha

Haha I guess so. I did read that on the Steam workshop discussion, but it also says that it is not very compatible. I will just wait for CK2+ to be stable.

It's not compatible with saves from 2.4.5 and before. It will never be. Stability has nothing to do with it.

I did not try to use a save game. It didn't even get to that part.

If you're trying to use 2.4.5, you need to manually roll back to that patch, unsubscribe from Steam (or it will re-load the current version of the mod no matter what you do), and then download the previous version of the mod from the archive link and manually install it.

If you're trying to use the current version, make sure you have the 2.5.1.1 patch and the proper version of the mod. You may want to do a complete reinstall of the game, if it's not working, as it's possible you have something wrong.

If all that's not working, I can't really help you. Perhaps someone else can. It has nothing to do with the "stability" of the mod, however -- that's just how updates work with CK2.

I do not know what you mean by manually. I selected beta 2.4.5 from the properties screen and Steam loaded it automatically then I subscribed to CK2+ and Steam also loaded that manually. Sorry I am not too savvy with steam

If you are using Steam, then it will automatically update you to the latest version of the mod -- which requires 2.5.1.1, NOT 2.4.5. Go back and get rid of the beta selection.

The only reason to use beta 2.4.5 is if you have the previous version of the mod installed...which you can only do if you are not subscribed to the mod on Steam.

OK but the latest mod version is still not 100% compatible with the latest version of CK2, correct? If so, I will just wait for the latest mod version to be compatible with the latest CK2 version.

Current version of the mod is compatible with conclave and its patch ( safer to use the 2.5.1.1 beta patch since thats what the mod was compiled against). Only thing is some conclave features were left out for the time being and the rest haven't had a good balance pass over them yet.

Oh ok. I thought some features from all versions were not available. I do not have conclave so it doesn't matter to me anyway. That's good then I will download it and see if everything works. Thanks for all the info.

I don't have the DLC conclave, it was mentioned that to play CK+ I would need to the archive and get the previous mod of CK+. Where is that archive? I can't seem to locate it either here or on steam.

I think you just need to go to properties on CK2 and then beta and it is there. If that is what you are asking. However, as discussed on here previously, you no longer need to do that since CK2+ has been updated.
