Hello, i am writing this in order to find out what [gfx_dx9.cpp:1490]: Error create vertices -2005530516 8 0 20 means and what causes the Title Already Exists error in the error log while trying to also find fixes. I have been getting recent CTD at random intervals and it has been going on since two patches ago while before that it never happened. It started off by crashing roughly 30 years into the game and since then it has dwindled to 20 then 15 then 5 then 1 but back up to 3 to 10 while I'm trying to find a fix for it. I used the same mods i did before and checked their compatibility but it started to crash and nothing happened and i even tried to reduce the amount of mods i use but it still occurs. I posted it in the HIP bug report and I am still waiting on a response for it so I came here.

I posted the error log here: https://pastebin.com/1574rUix

I have the latest DirectX and Windows update and my graphics driver is up to date. I have also done a fresh reinstall and still the same problem

Any help would be appreciated as I can't seem to find a fix for it no matter where I look or what I try.

Unless you are playing with mods, those errors do look like a corrupted installation.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add ck2game.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test with a new campaign - NOT by loading any existing save

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK2 or Documents CK2 locations, before installing again.

If you still get a problem after that, DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

I see thank you I shall test that out

Sorry to bother you again but it seems that the crashes are back. I did a clean re-install as you suggested and it was running perfectly fine until 24 years in it crashed with the same error. I have attached the logs as you wished and I checked the modded lines and they was no error in it and i checked all their compatibility with each other which is fine through previous tests. Also there was no exceptions.log in my log folder so i am unable to post it.

Sorry, are you saying you are using mods?
I done the vanilla run before so I'm here asking what would cause those errors to occur modded or not so I can find out the error and the modded lines never caused it to crash two patches ago and I isolated them to test their compatibility

Perhaps I may be being presumptuous but I ran the modded and vanilla game and where I stopped for vanilla it crashed for modded so I dont see the issue in me stating I did. Excuse my presumptuous manner if that isnt allowed here

No problem with your manner, I'm just trying to establish the facts.

Are you loading any mods when you have these problems? OR have you modded the game's own files instead of using a separate mod package?

If you unsubscribe from ALL mods and do the clean reinstall up in post #2, do you get any problems in the game?
