When I enter CK2, the launcher appears, but its all white, and shortly afterwards I get this error message:
"the instruction at 0x4033d8d0 referenced memory at 0x00000028"
The only option is to terminate. I'm on windows 7.
Does anyone have a solution please?

Has this always happened ever since you've had the game? Or it used to be okay up to some point?

Add ck2game.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Here are the files:
Thanks so much for the help. It used to work normally, then, out of the blue, it stopped working.
:)

That dxdiag says your video driver is not known to Microsoft, you may as well update to the latest and last for that old card:

last_mods=
{
"mod/mod_after-the-end---old-world.mod" "mod/all the bloodlines 1.3.mod" "mod/mod_all the bloodlines_UPDATED.mod" "mod/All The Bloodlines.mod" "mod/100statdynasties.mod.mod" "mod/instantcrusadesmiku.mod.mod" "mod/infinite game.mod.mod" "mod/ruler designer unlocked!.mod.mod"
}
Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add ck2game.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK2 or Documents CK2 locations, before installing again.

If that helps the you can move the saves back and see if the game still runs; if not you have a corrupted save.

The game has not changed in the last week, what did at your end? Did you subscribe back to those mods or other mods, or what?

Can we see new copies of all those files please.

Alright. Yeah, I did re-download some mods, but not all of them. Maybe like 4 mods.

Also, I couldn't find an exceptions.log file in My Documents>Paradox Interactive>Crusader Kings II>logs. Is that significant?

You may as well update that very old driver to the latest and last ever for that card

I hope that does it because I don't have a lot else!

So I downloaded the NVIDIA thing, and it turns out this update isn't compatible with my system (my hardware) and thus can't install. Welp.

Ran a Steam Verify, didn't help.

Re-installed CK2 AGAIN, same thing. Oh well. Thanks for your help anyway.

Your G210M video card is specifically listed in that update's Supported Products ... ?

You may need help from nVidia at this point, sorry.

Ok, so an update:

All my other paradox games work, EU4 and Stellaris, that is.

I re-installed a couple of times more, always following your every step, and it's still like this.

I contacted Nvidia, they said they no longer support my video card an advised me to buy a new one.

Thanks for the help anyway.
:)

What?!? They release a driver that specifically mentions that card model, it won't apply, and they just wave you away and want more money from you?

Ridiculous!
