Hey, sorry if that has been asked before, I didn't find anything using the search function:

I am playing the mod ´for the first time. I want to start as an Italian and reform the Roman Empire as a Hellenic (or as it is in the mod, with the Roman Religion) as well as Roman Culture.

To try it out before starting (I always test out scenarios to see if they actually work as planned), I console cheated me Rome as an Italian and gave me the correct traits, but somehow the decision to delve into the classics doesn't appear.

Has that been removed in the mod? If not, what path can you take in the mod?

If yes, have they replaced it with something else? I assume they didn't just cut that out altogether, considering they added a specific Roman Version of the Hellenic Religion.

Also, how exactly does the Ancient Religion Start Option work? It says it converts per different parameters, but whatever option I am using, nothing happens.

Note: I am using the newest Beta Version.

So instead of "Respectfully" disagreeing with me, how about you tell me why you disagree with me asking a question I am unsure about?

Is it wrong of me to ask a question here? Are questions of newcomers unwelcome? At least tell me what your problem here is.

I have been trying to convert myself in a game and it does not seem to work. A mystic appears and he agrees to teach me more and then nothing more happens at any point. Might have half a dozen Hellenic in my court but never any choice to convert. Also, its pre reformed on the ruler designer which makes little sense if you are bringing it back from the dead and there is only a handful of people who follow it.

As far as I know you need to be Greek and get Mystic trait to make the events fire but I can't find the right file in events to check it out personally.

Well, in Vanilla and at least HIP you can also be of an Italian culture, and mystic is not the only trait you could use, you can also have Erudite, Lunatic and a few other.

It should be in the event files somewhere. I just checked the ck2plus Hellenic files and those are all related to flavor it seems. When I’m back at my pc I’ll give it a look, it’s beyond tedious trying to fish through event files on my phone.

I thought delve into classics was a decision?

It is, as I have mentioned in my first post. But it doesn't appear even though I should, at least in Vanilla, have fulfilled all criteria.

EDIT: Or do you mean that because the poster before mentioned the event files? In that case, yeah, one has to look in the decision files.

Roman religion is separate from Hellenic in CK2+ and both were included in CK2+ long before Vanilla made the "Hellenic" religion playable.
Both are part of the Graeco-Roman religious group in CK2+ (so not "pagan") and basically non-vanilla religion.

Known Issues:

  • Pagan Reformation may not work as expected on non-vanilla religions
  • Final months trait may stick around after birth (vanilla issue)
  • Wonders may not appear in the correct location due to Map changes (vanilla-ish issue)

Your answer is right there pagan reformation may not work as expected on non-vanilla religions. Same way any decision/event related to vanilla "Hellenism" may not work with CK2+ Graeco-Roman religious group. For that matter Hellenic, Roman and Prometean (Graeco-Roman religious group) are organized religions from the start so they don't get any reformation.

Welcome to the Internet.

It took me some hours to investigate, and it's finally over

The file "decisions/HF_religious_decisions.txt" has this code:
Code:

There is no such file in CK2+, which means it's not altered in the mod.
I've picked Basil Macedon and added the Scholar trait. Then I've seen the "Delve into the Classics" decision in the Intrigue tab.
So the conditions to secretly become Hellenic must be the same as in vanilla, and you can read them carefully here.
Pro-Capitalism, Small Government
All power to the Soviets corporations? An unusual choice nowadays.

So could someone tell the interested party what modifiers the CK2+ Roman Religion gets? And does delving into the classics lead to the Vanilla Hellenism or to CK2+ version of Hellenism or Roman Religion? Basically the question is: if there is a proper Roman Religion burried in this mod how can we convert to it?

I think you can get it via ancient religion conversion, basically an event chain which can happen if you have.. scholar focus? I think? Lets you convert to an ancient religion based on your culture (so Celtic cultures get Celtic, North Germans get Norse, Anglosaxons and Germans get Germanic, Greeks get Hellenic, presumably Italians get Roman?)

Thank you, however it would be really cool if some of the mod devs could maybe give us a real explanation and maybe also provide the information on those CK2+ pagan religions that you can adopt already reformed. That would be very helpful.
