aah so frustrating man. I don't understand why the eu4 to vic2 one would work fine and this one won't. Thanks for the help anyways though.
See if they have any content. Maybe they were uncompressed blank.

Will Pomeranian be broken up into an old pomeranian culture like old prussian since Pomeranian germans can be created by breaking up the German superculture now? Since Sorbian/Lusatian is coming in the next update to EU4, that hypothetical Old Pomeranian then split off the Sorbs?

OMG the way this works in practice is better than I even imagined. They both keep the dynastic name AND become the equivalent EU4 tag! Not even turning off dynastic names would guarantee that in the vanilla converter! THANK YOU. Now the only thing from the vanilla converter that I think is left that needs to die tbh is loads and loads of flags being weirdly un-centered. Too high, too far to the left or right, etc.

Just noticed that Slovien also seems to convert into the German Pomeranian as well rather than Czech and Slovak.

You can see what maps to what in culture_map.txt. If you have suggestions or corrections, feel free to edit it and upload on the dev thread. I just noticed we don't have slovien so it maps to nothing. Old prussian goes into prussian. Eu4 thinks they are germanic and we don't really care about that. They are certainly not "old prussian" because if they are alive they would be the only prussian there is. When Emperor comes out we'll update what needs to be updated.

As for flags, currently we're importing ck2 flags, where necessary, ad verbatim. This causes the misalignment.

Also, I don't really know how it worked (Or how well it worked) but the official converter had dynamic national ideas for converted nations. Do you guys maintain this so that tags that are not in base EUIV have non-generic ideas?

Those titles that correspond to vanilla eu4 tags are given those tags and keep vanilla ideas and missions and such.Other tags (and on my test save I had over 800 incoming titles in total) get the randomized ideas. We're not in the business of modding custom tags with custom ideas for the huge number of possible incoming titles.
 
I was gonna ask this but I presume not from the last comment on this, but it may as well be asked anyways: Would we be able to at least localize the random ideas of the countries that are important to the lore of the universe depicted? Like, say, if in my megacampaign I had a pious as hell and beloved character who was unable to be sanctified because he was a drunkard, and one of the random ideas was boosting Church Power, I would logically want it to reference said character as an icon of the protestants there. I'm assuming that wouldn't be possible?

Nope. Random ideas must not be random in order to be localized. That church power would have to be manually copied into "C28_church_power", described (copied) in a common/ideas/custom_ideas.txt, and then moved into Localizations with a custom title.

While certainly possible, we're not the ones doing randomization - EU4 is. Even EU4 itself wont know what ideas each country has until you press play after selection the nation (you'll see before pressing play all nations have identical custom ideas starting with "Preserve our troops", which will be false after game starts).
 
EU4 crashes upon selecting a country and pressing play. Could I get a fix for this please?

So, reading through how the converter works, I had a question about a scenario with development.

In EUIV, the max stat for one of the developments (Tax, Production, Manpower) can only be one more than the other two combined. In CK2 it *is* possible to have a county with only one type of holding. if this is so, and the holding is well built-up, would it possibly break that rule and maybe cause a crash in EUIV?

Hey, it's me again. I've been fiddling around an I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with my configuration files because when I move the "CK2ToEU4DefaultConfigeration" xml out the folder there's no error like there is when I move the equivalent file for the EU4 to Vic2 converter. Obviously there's something not working on my end and my current theory is that the config files might be getting corrupted or something when i download them? I have no idea but like I said I'm getting this issue every time I download it.
Anyways, I was wondering if it could be possible to download just the configuration folder somewhere? I don't code so I don't know how it would make a difference but I'm just grasping at straws at this point haha. Cheers.
