No,they will propably tell their next game sometime before release of EUIII.I personally hope its ancient age game from Alexander The Great onwards.

Is there any info on development or anything else about it yet?

No, and it is very doubtful there will be a CK2, CK wasn't a big commercial succes, sadly enough.

Any news about a new Paradox game, will most likely be made after EUIII has been published so somewhere next year

But Johan has said that he wants to make CK to what he dreams of, not this hodgepodge that Snowball failed with, and was rebuilt by Johan himself.

That's a bit harsh, surely! CK is a great game!

But it could be so much more.

Let's face it, Johan dreams big. Sometimes his dreams are bigger than what reality will accomodate. That's not necessarily a fault, as long as he can scale his expectations to what is possible (which he seems to be able to do.) The big dream remains, though, no matter how realistic he is forced to be. Sure, it would be great if Paradox had all the money in the world so they could turn Johan loose to build his dream game. But they don't, so Johan and the rest of us must scale down our expectations a bit.

That being said, yes, CK is a great game (my second favorite of all time, right after EU2.)

It's a fun game, but could have been magnificent had it had the benefit of a normal development route. There's no denial there are some things there not working too well, even with teh great improvements we have seen from 1.0 to 1.05...

It's a shame if it never becomes a reality. Medieval era is far and away the most interesting to myself and many others. The era may be overused by many peoples tastes but most are so poorly done that CK is the only one that sticks out for myself. One problem is finding medieval era games that don't incorporate any high fantasy like magic spells and healing and such.

I'm looking forward to Medieval: Total War but I would trade that for a CK2, paradox games always have those intriguing features and attention to historical fact that make them unique to all other games on the market.

I agree,would really like to see a CK2.

I love being able to follow my dynasty/family through the times. The mere fact that you can do this sort of personalizes the game for me.Heck my eleven year old daughter after having watched me play this game from release asked if I would buy her a copy,so I did and we are having a blast.

CK is definately my favorite Paradox game.

A CK re-release via an expansion, possibly utilizing the rights to some popular medieval movie ("Crusader Kings - Kingdom of Heaven" anyone? :D), could be a hit and would be a definite buy for me (unless I ended up in the beta, in which case I think I'd get the game for free).

The CK franchise deserves better...

I would also love a CKII but would at least be somewhat compensated if you can export CK games into EUIII!

:)
A player-made converter seems as likely as ganking in a MMORPG.

I agree. First of all, a good Paradox Medieval game would be far more attractive to me than even EU2, HoI, and Victoria (all of which I love). Secondly, you're correct that while the theme may be over-done, it has yet to be done RIGHT (LoTR2, MTW, etc.). ;) CK is the closest so far, and with a few tweaks and additions would be as close to perfect as possible IMO.

CK is one of the best games ever. I would really like to see a CK2. But for know I can only dream and hope.
