Ive been playing this save for quite some time now, about 100 years. When I try to load in my save the game stutters, and then crashes as I begin to see the world map. Older saves (from ~ 5 years back) work, but some also don't. I also was not able to load in while I was already in game- I had to restart it completely.
If I attempt to 'pick any character' and chose for ex. the Byzantine Empire it also crashes.
I play on Linux, integrated intel gpu, lowest settings possible with the exception for resolution (1920x1080), Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 5 125H. 32gb ram

On steam deck i have it that when i start the game from the launcher it crashes
Please stop posting this in every thread that mentions a crash. You've already started a thread (https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/steam-deck-crash-ck3.1730370/) and AndrewT has replied and explained that the game isn't technically supported on Steam Deck so please keep to that thread.

For the issue at hand you've clearly got mods installed as the debug shows several:

Always Flat Map|mod/ugc_2216782330.mod
Valyrian Steel|mod/ugc_2962713441.mod
Better Map Graphics|mod/ugc_3051778961.mod
COW-AGOT: 3D Models & Bigger Castles|mod/ugc_2971198450.mod
AGOT: Minor House Flavour Fix|mod/ugc_3328065634.mod
Simple Graphic Pack|mod/ugc_3255992492.mod
A Game of Thrones|mod/ugc_2962333032.mod
Better Map Graphics Temporary Fix|mod/ugc_3338498817.mod
AGOT: Canon Children+|mod/ugc_2966438738.mod
AGOT: Minor House Flavour|mod/ugc_2977547390.mod
AGOT: More Actions|mod/ugc_3059021049.mod
AGOT: Ruins of Westeros|mod/ugc_3434291953.mod
AGOT Submod Core|mod/ugc_3034473189.mod
AGOT - Armies of Westeros|mod/ugc_2966543745.mod
DaddyPika's Graphical Map Overhaul|mod/ugc_2228230595.mod

If these are the root cause or not I can't say as the error log is a bit all over the place but I'd start by disabling them and see if that makes a difference. If you could also upload the save that'd be great as I can then test it.

My reply wasn't for you, it was the original poster ;). In your case there's nothing we can do since we don't test the game on Steam Deck meaning we don't really support it either.

I removed the mods completely (they were disabled before though). The 'dziala' save works, the other one is my latest save and it doesn't work.

Also: switching to OpenGNL from Vulkan 'fixes' the error- the game loads and I can play, but it breaks the graphics.

I was able to load and play that High King saved game on my iMac just fine, using Vulkan of course. So the issue is likely restricted to your computer, or Linux in general. You may be able to play past that crash point on a Mac or Windows PC, then continue under Linux.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings III/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings III/logs/ folder, attach here system.log

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

I'm not sure how much, if any, testing is done on the Intel Arc video systems, whether under Linux or other OS. The published minimum under Linux is:
  • Graphics: Nvidia® GeForce™ GTX 660 (2GB) / AMD® Radeon™ HD 7870 (2GB) / Intel® Iris Pro™ 580 / Intel® Iris® Plus G7 / AMD® Radeon™ Vega 11
And recommended
  • Graphics: Nvidia® GeForce™ GTX 1650 (4GB) / AMD® Radeon™ R9 390X (8GB)
That aside I don't see any problem in those files, I'm afraid! I don't really have anything to suggest except to post the situation in a new thread in Bug Reports, for QA to look into. Sorry!

**Post moved from /forum/threads/ck3-crashes-when-zooming-in-out-linux.1730646/ **

Hi, I've had CK3 for some time; it worked fine on my previous build: Corei7-2600; AMD RX6400; Kllisre B75, continued to work fine when I when I swapped the CPU for an Intel i3-13100f & the mobo for an ASUS Prime B660M-A, but as soon as I changed the CPU for an i5 12400f & the GPU for an Intel Arc B580, it crashes as soon as I zoom in or out.

My original setup had Ubuntu 23.10, then 24.04, then to serve the new GPU I installed 24,10 with the kernel upgraded to 6.12 as recommended.

Cities:Skylines crashes too, during loading, (in case that affords any clues) but HOI4 is fine.

I turned off all the mods in both to see if that helped but it didn't

Thankyou

Edit: truncated link because the interface labelled it as spam

Edit: added log files , one set with mod turned off, one with it deleted
