Hello,

I'm a big fan of the game and have enjoyed it quite a bit on my steam deck. However, since the wanderer update I've been unable to play it due to a memory leak or something building over time and over save games. I've tried downloading the population control and smaller world mods and such, but no dice.

My problem seems very similar to another one, called "CK3 Crashes Constantly Midgame", which I can't link because it thinks I'm being a spammer. However, unlike their case, I do not have windows, so none of the solutions are relevant. Like the OP in that post, I had already found and tried posts about reinstalling and disabling vsync and such.

Is there anything to be done?

Thanks!

This game is not supported on the Steam Deck, strictly speaking, only native Windows, MacOS or Ubuntu Linux, so it won't have been tested there. But let's see if we can see anything.

My understanding is you can't get logs etc on that box, is that right? It's locked down in that way?

Hello,

Thanks for your reply!

I don't think it's all that locked down, no. You can exit out into a proper linux desktop and do basically whatever you want there, or at least I haven't found myself limited.

I can access, for example, ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Crusader Kings III. I imagine the logs would turn up there in some subfolder? Any you have in mind?

Thanks for your help!

(Edit: if not there I also have the .local/share/Paradox Interactive folder; I wiped both folders for my clean reinstall which did not help my problem)

When you ran the game again the Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings III/ would have been recreated ; in there is pdx_settings.txt , then under that is a /logs/ folder with hopefully system.log , error.log and exceptions.log
