As shown above I can only see the top left quarter of my screen.
The game does boot normaly and I've seen te main menu be interactable.

The screenshot is taken when loading the game in fullscreen mode at 3840x2160 with an empty mod-playset

I have allready tried:
Launching in windowed mode
Setting the resulotion to 1080 (for both windowed and fullscreen)
Verifing file integrity
Re-installing the game
Updating my graphics drivers

None of the above seem to resolve the problem

My current specifications are;
Processor 11th Gen INtel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700F @3.60Ghz
Graphics Card NVIDIA GEForce RTX 3060 Ti (driver version 576.80)
OS Windows 11 Home Version 24H2 64-bit

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Crusader Kings 3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings III/ folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

Does that help?

I assume the game used to work for you - do you know what change or update triggered this problem?

Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.
IF dxdiag.txt fails to attach here, rename it to dxdiag.log , or zip it up.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log

My apologies for the late reaction.

Yes, the game worked on this pc before; my current playtime is somewhere around 380 hours. The suggested solution didn't work either.

I've attached the requested files. The system.log file is empty, and uploading it doesn't work, nor seems very insightful.

Are you sure you have no mods in use? There are several mod errors in that log.

But this is the most likely cause
[16:28:01][E][gfx_dx11_swapchain.cpp:257]: D3D error: hr returned: The application made a call that is invalid. Either the parameters of the call or the state of some object was incorrect.
Enable the D3D debug layer in order to see details via debug messages.

[16:28:01][E][pdx_assert.cpp:619]: Assertion failed: hr returned:

Enable the D3D debug layer in order to see details via debug messages.
Clearly some video/graphics problem here, but I don't see anything in those files to explain it.

Let's try a clean reinstall of Nvidia:

- uninstall it https://developer.nvidia.com/cleanup-tool
- reboot
- install July 2025 https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
- reboot again
- If GeForce Experience or the Nvidia app are running after doing that, exit them before starting the game.

Does that help at all?

Sadly, it did not.

I had several mods downloaded, but in the attempts to fix this, I have so far specifically launched the game with an empty playset.
For good measure, I have now unsubscribed from all mods and deleted all of them from the initial playset, which is now empty.
This did not make a difference either.

Can I see new copies of all those files please.

And Please install and run the free utility Speccy. Send its output to a text file and attach that here please.
