CKII (and EU4) not starting

Hi,

CKII is unfortunatly not starting anymore. When I press the play key in steam it detects that the game is running. After about 5 seconds it stops and steam briefly says it synchronizing.

I tried the following steps:
- Verifying the gamefiles
- Complete reinstall
- Updating graphic drivers
- Repair DirectX and VCredist

DxDIAG is attached.

Did both these games stop working at the same time?

What change or update happened between the last time one of them worked okay, and the first time one of them had this problem?

What antivirus app do you use? Add steam.exe , ck2game.exe and eu4.exe to its Exceptions list.

Im having the same issue as Sateda. I did exactly as he did.
I got ck2 for free and it never run after installing.
Im using a surface 4 pro. W10, 2.5Ghtz, 8gb RAM.

I'm using BitDefender 2018 as my antivirus software, this was causing the issue. I added both games to the excetion list which fixed my problems.

Similar issue, the 5 sec shutdown into sync kept happening before running it as admin.
Afterwards it kept popping up with the (0xc000007b) error code.
Also reinstalled, verified game files, repaired .net, redists, DX, updated GFX drivers and still no luck in running it

If your issue is not antivirus like the OP's was, then you have a different problem. Please each start your own fresh threads with full problem history, extent, and detail. Thanks.

Im using the antivirus that came from stock, windows defender. I verify and ck2 was already on the list of exceptions but i have never added it. I think it added it self when i installed ck2. Still cant play it.
