So, this might seem a bit odd or a long shot by far.

My girlfriend of the last 4 years and I have played this video game and mod with a similar frequency to Arya muttering the names of the people on her “to-kill” list. We both are fairly nerdy and I feel that the game with it's betrothal and marriage system would be perfect to script an actual real life marriage proposal via in-game events. I am looking to put this together over the next couple weeks. I would have started earlier, and before I was looking to propose at the Zoo. Then this idea struck me, and it would be much more unique and personalized to her.

The idea being that a specialty scenario, or modded standard scenario might make a decent delivery mechanism. The game would start and you would play as your own character (IE- Her name, character and stats spec-ed out with real portraits of us). Then an event chain with flowery text and pomp would prompt you to start an event chain. It would be nerdy and involve declaring her the moon of my life, etc, declaring her queen of her domain and flourishing her with titles. The music would involve the OST “Reynes of Castamere” Red Wedding rendition for background music. She would be given the event to accept or decline (decline giving you the immediate option of game over). It would be a fairly simple event chain.

I used to script some personal events for the original Victoria and Hearts of Iron, but that was quite some time ago and I do not trust my own skills for this. I wanted to know if this might be feasible or attract anyone's interest in assisting or constructive criticism. I was also looking to splice in an audio tract of her reaction while recording a play-through of the event chain.

I wanted to do something unique in a private setting, and she would not be under any particular public pressure if it is within the comforts of home while gaming. Least of all, she would never suspect this as a method for a proposal delivery. I know video game proposals have been done before, but I think that a Crusader Kings II Game of Thrones Mod proposal might be in the least slightly unique.

Wow, I wish you good luck with it, im sure you can find some good guides/tutorials to help you.

It shouldn't be too hard. Just use a string narrative events, usually one firing after another. Make sure to give her the choice, of course.

Grand idea, though! I hope it works out for you!
