I know that I was able to use Carthographic map before with CKII+, and there were no problems, everything looked as it should.

However, since I purchased Conclave, and downloaded the newest CKII+, everything looks greenish.. like all the realms are the shades of green, or brown with some shades of yellowe and gray, it's not a map, it's a camouflage pattern for Panzers xD Except ERE that is still a bit purplish.

Now, I realize that IHCM is another mod, and you are not responsibile for it.. but does anyone have any idea, how can I fix it back, so that both mods can word together without glitches.

Well, I might have an idea what is causing it.. or not.

Anyways, when I look at the CKII+ de jure duchy map, I notice that duchies are not at all in the shades of colour their kingdom is. When I try playing without CK2+, they are, so vanilla is working fine. But, with CK2+, it seems like duchies get random colours, even when in the same kingdom. I guess the cause might be added provinces and duchies in CK2...

So please tell me, is this WAD, or is somehow my game messed up?

Probably the issue is that, as of 4.04, we now mod our map...so there are files which conflict with IHCM.
That explains it. Well, in that case, it seems I will have to stop using Carthographic map. I must admit I am sad about it, but I can hardly play without CKII+ anymore so...

Also, if I can make a suggestion, it is not a game breaking issue, but if you are changing the way things look, I think it would be nice to follow that system where duchies in a kingdom are a shades of the same or similar colours.

People complain about colors all the time. A few have even started trying to make a sub-mod to change it, and then abandoned that when they realize what an enormous task it is. Considering I'm quite used to the current colors, it's not a task I'm going to undertake...but like I've said to others who began the sub-mod: feel free to do so, and if it looks good (and if it still allows duchies to be easily distinguishable, including to the color-blind, which is the purpose behind how it is now), I'll incorporate it into the main mod.

Well, actually I might think about it.. if I find out how to mod it in the first place. Never tried, but I do have some IT and programming knowledge, so I might be able to do it. Never even tried. I could probably figure it out on my own, but care to help me out and tell me which files contain colour defines? I assume it is somwhere in the .. hm well either in map or gfx folder, or in landed titles I guess?
Greatest obstacle would be time, given that I work 9-5...

Well given that I would probably revert back to vanilla style shading, I doubt it would fit.. but it could be used as an additional submod, for people who want that style?

I actually now tried, and found out that if I remove two certain files from CK2+ > map > terrain, it goes back to the way it used to be, in previous versions with both mods.. just the thing that I was looking for.

That also screws with the Danube, and the Rhine, and west Africa's terrain...

The colors of all titles derive from the RGB color codes in their title definition (in the files under the common\landed_titles folder).

Easiest way to make a sub-mod is not to change those files directly (it would be impossible to upkeep, since we change them all the time), but to make a separate file that would load after the ones in that folder -- with just the title definition and the color code.

Ugh. I thought about trying to make some in-between colourmap and colormap_water file, which would look like 'cartographic' style, but it seems I do not have sufficient graphic skills. If anyone is interested in helping out with that for the submod, feel free to contact me.

On the other hand, most of the things regarding landed_titles are pretty much obvious from the go, the only issue being ton of lines to edit.

But I am unsure how to make it to overwrite CKII+ files...

Not sure why, but I am really eager to make something that looks like Cartographic's map and works with Ck2+.. got way to used to using both mods.
