I've read the FAQ, but was hoping for some additional clarification or confirmation of my suspicions regarding EEP. EEP would seem to be a collection of mods from a variety of sources all combined into one, well tested, well balanced mod, true? This seems to be a way to grow the game on a regular basis - to continuously expand the quantity / quality of content in the game.

My questions relate to 'how I can get what I want out of EEP'. Specifically, I'm playing a country now, Bavaria, that doesn't seem to have any events and I've yet to get a leader. Since the game has already begun, I can't use EEP now, but in the future, if I want to play a small state that doesn't have events, how can I find out if EEP has events for that country, can I find events that someone has added for that country and add them to my EEP?

I also don't seem to see any instructions regarding mods to EEP or rules to EEP modifications - are these in the install and just not on the forum?

Thanks in advance. Huge fan of user mods and this seems to be the one everyone is talking about - want to participate but am still a little lost on the details of what makes this mod any different from any others except the illustrious title?

EEP isn't a conglomeration of a bunch of smaller mods. There are a lot of people working on EEP, some still around, some long since gone, but overall it is a unified effort to give more events to the game to increase the historical flavor and provide some atmosphere to the game. It is very well-tested, and is quite stable and reliable when playing.

If you want to see which countries have events for EEP, do this. c:\EU2 Directory\EEP\db\events\ and you will come to a list of all the event files for EEP. For Bavaria, open the corresponding files in a text editor and see the events. Bavaria got quite a few new events for EEP compared to the Paradox GC. As for leaders, I don't know off hand about the changes.

As for what makes this mod different from the others, the best answer is the sheer volume of new events. I would say that the Paradox events are at least doubled in EEP. Which for my money is at least twice the fun.

As for how much longer EEP will be modded, right now the main focus is on debugging the latest patch. With the merger between EEP and AGC, I really don't know how much more time and effort will go into creating new things for EEP.

You can add any events to your game that you want to add. All you have to do is make sure that the event id numbers don't duplicate already existing id numbers. I would reccommend using id numbers of at least 600000 would be the safest bet for adding new events, that way if any new events are added by EEP, you won't have to go back and change your custoim events because one of their id's has been used.

Does this suggest that things are going in the way of AGC and that EEP will be depricated?

Is there any way to add the Bavarian events to my current game? (sorry if this is out of the scope of the current EEP forum)

Thanks.

Cut and paste :) Just cut the ones you want out of the major_bay files in the EEP and paste them into your Paradox major_bay file. Any events that have yet to occur will play just fine. Just make sure you get all the {'s and }'s. Without these your game will not load. I must warn you that these events were designed in conjunction with events from other countries so they may not produce the desired or even desirable effects, The only way to get the full feel, so to speak, would be to play the EEP in it's downloaded form.

I think maybe some of your confusion is stemming from Phillip and I's indie mods for the EEP. Both of those were really just our ways of getting people to play test our setups at a time when an EEP release wasn't eminent. So our MODs were just little add-ons but not actually part of the EEP upon their release (just compatible with it).

On the merger bit, I'm going to have to give you a qualified no. The EEP actually the senior partner in the merger (really because its has been around longer and has so much more modifications than the AGC) and so really its a fusion of the two projects. So if anything the merger is just a natural extension of the EEP with a bunch of other modifications fused in. Stonewall's statement is more to the angle that development on the EEP is going to be lax because once the merger occurs, it will no longer be considered a separate entity from the AGC.
